As per your request Lady Nayun I will not clutter the registration sheet.
I do not believe we have met
I do not see you in the histories
I do see you in the current rankings
Though you are unable to enter the tournament others of the rank of mage can
You can only hope that one of them defeat me
I have retired titles and it was my choosing to do so
I will not make excuses for my choices
But I am a duelist and I will compete where I wish
Perhaps when you gain proper rank you may be able to challenge me if by chance I do become ArchMage
Though the chance is slim that I will become it
Lem is a strong opponent
I only defeated him once in a duel
The other mages that may compete are also strong opponents
You should have more faith in them

As this post is for registrations I ask that you please not respond
I will be coming to the duels this weekend to watch possible opponents
Speak with me then if you have any more concerns

That is all

- Nayun
What astounds me most is your complete disregard for the titles you seek. Should I reiterate lines six and seven of your spiteful poem?

Good day.

"Poem?" Nayun could not help but reflect on that word. Not understanding the thought behind it. Red eyes locking themselves onto the posting while she stood in front of the corkboard at the Twilight Isles. A soft shift in her rigid stance to take her into a more at ease position, so that she could reach inside her bag and pull free a piece of paper; along with a writing tool. After finding a table to sit at, she began to write.

Nayuns penmanship was something to laugh about. The obvious heavy press of the pen and broad strokes was telltale sign of a novice to the written language.

The titles do not matter
The title holders do
Fighting strong opponents is all that matters
The fight is all
Not the reward of towers lands or opals
The reward is knowing that you looked into the eyes of your opponent
That you crossed steel with a worthy adversary
That you held up your fists and continued to fight
That you would be willing to stand before the fury of the elements without yielding
Do you wake up in the morning with the thought of titles on your mind
Or the idea of facing a strong opponent who holds the titles

As I am staying in rhydin for the archmage tournament I have seen your other postings
I believe this maria is right
You are a nobody
I gained a barony
I gained a tower
I gained an opal
I won the ring of klytus twice
I won the archmages open tournament and felt the power residing within the celestial tower
All within a relatively small amount of time compared to many other duelists

What have you won?
What titles have been bestowed upon you?
The self proclaimed boasting title of sir?

The fight is the real reward
And the shared look between the two of you knowing that a fight was well done
But you would not understand this
As you have never held a title in the duels
As you have never gained proper ranking in the duels
As you have never won a tournament in the duels

I also see that you have only started competing a few months ago
So I must ask
What do you know about these sports that gives you the right to speak ill of me?

The way rachael wynter danced upon the air as she faced and defeated me twice in defense of the tower of air
The way kalinda set the ring ablaze with not only flames but with her beauty as well
The way the child maggie cheered for her mother as we fought toe to toe within the arena
The way roderick did not falter after I defeated him 5-0 in the first fight of our match and tied it up 1-1 after defeating me in the second
These fights will be fights I remember for the rest of my life
That is not disrespect
That is admiration
I have never and will never hold any disrespect in my heart for my opponents

That is all

- Nayun

I am feeling left out
I threw Pathfinder away
Because it was mouthy
I forfeited the Fire Tower
Because it was too hot
When challenged for FireStar
I only show up half the time
Ask Anubis
Who is this young upstart
Nobody can forfeit like Mur

I enjoyed my time within the tower of fire
But I agree that it was too hot
It was interesting to workout while inside of the tower
I take it that your name is Mur
I will read over your histories after I complete my lunch

In tell-tale Sharpie marker, on lined paper:

Never happy to see people forfeit titles, but she's young, and allowed to make mistakes.

Otherwise, she's right. The fight is all. The titles are journeys, not destinations.
