Hello, patrons of the Duel of Magic!
It's almost time for the All-Ranks Tournament, but we're not doing that this cycle. I have something much more fun in store for the holiday season: a mega-cast! It will take place on Wednesday the 28th, at 9PM RST. Sai will be officiating.
So what is a mega-cast, you ask? It's where everyone gets into one big ring, and it's a giant free-for-all! The last one standing is the winner! Our Archmage, Shadow, will be theming the tournament, and he will be giving two celestial furies to the first place winner, and one to the second. The same monetary prizes apply as well: 2000 nobles to 1st, 1000 to 2nd, and 500 to 3rd.
There's no seeding in this tournament, but still, pre-register just to let us know you're going to be there! Good luck, and have fun!
((Rules for the mega-cast can be found here.))

::From the Citadel of Stars burst a flash of white light, near-painful in its intensity and particularly uncomfortable to beings of evil (though not truly harmful). This light travelled down from the reaches of pocket-dimensional space, and perhaps beyond. Standing within the highest atrium of the Citadel's primary tower was an elf, garbed in careworn leathers, and with slim-fingered hands thrust skyward; pale of hair and amber of eye, his palms were raised in exhortation of the beneficent Powers, who through his wiry frame sent down a mere burst of power: the dueling rings of Twilight Isle were thus instantly domed with a strange, nebulous sky, and the clear light of the void coupled with the shine of various solar entities (stars and moons) to create fantastic displays above the landscape. The transformation above was mirrored with something more peculiar; each goblin was changed into something akin to a small elf, complete with white-fur trimmed and puff-tasseled red cap, and matching suit. The scents and sights of the holidays began to suffuse the main seating area of Twilight Isle's duels, with wreaths, bells, and mistletoe liberally placed; pipingly hot rum, mead, and mulled wine were arrayed upon the bar's old, cracked surface. The elf on high gestured, as if a conductor of a symphony, until finally a small, faint smile crept onto his features. "Happy holidays, and may the winds of magic bless you all," he whispered, finally closing his eyes and releasing the magic to take its course.::
"Still round the corner there may wait a new road or a secret gate; and though I have oft passed them by, a day will come at last when I shall take the hidden paths that run west of the moon, east of the sun." -- J.R.R. Tolkien
I was there! I saw the mega-cast! Well, more like a kilo-cast, really. But it was still cool! We had our three pre-regs, Rachael, Nayun, and Chythraul, in addition to Kruger, a walk-in. So we got started with four people!
For most of the brawl, it stayed close and even, with most people's stamina staying around the same. It was around when everyone was just above half stamina when Nayun had a particularly bad round and ate three bad hits! Kruger soon followed with a bad round of his own, and just like that, the non-Keepers were on the low end of the stamina spectrum, and the Keepers were on the not as low end.
Nayun would be the first one to go, Kruger deciding to play on the Keepers' side in the round in which she was eliminated. But Kruger was on the edge of elimination himself. He managed to survive two rounds, damaging the Keepers in the bargain, particularly Rachael. But he soon fell as well, leaving Rachael to deal with Chythraul.
Both were tapped of energy, and Chythraul had a considerable stamina advantage. Rachael fought valiantly, whittling down much of his stamina before falling herself, spending the last of her stamina failing to scare Chythraul through his shield.
Chythraul Cubukulu wins the Holiday Mega-Cast! Rachael comes in second, and Kruger in third! Thanks to everyone who participated and watched!
