Following his successful defense against Tass, Artyboy waived his thirty day grace period. Roddy, being within earshot of hearin this, took Art up on it. His desire for MoonBeryl might have somethin’ to do with dating the Air Keeper.
Sunday night saw Artemus Kurgen and Roderick Douglas in the Outback. I let the boys have their pick of the rings to begin with but told them that if they took it to three matches they were goin into the Pit. Once again, Art took his challenger to a Rask Generic ring.
Both guys took the first round sizin each other up, but started getting into it in the second round when Arty came with a fist and Roddy turned that momentum against him to be the first on the board. Arty turned it around, keeping Roddy’s fist from a strike and comin in with an elbow. They played the avoid game next, then went back to sizing each other up. Roddy caught an opening and filled it with his fist to take another lead. Two rounds later Arty tied it up against with his own well placed jab. Two more rounds later, Arty took a point lead with another solid hit. But when he tried to take the lead an run with it, Roddy brought him down and tied it up again. Roddy followed up one boot with another for the lead and three rounds later saw him taking then win when he dodged Arty’s incoming uppercut and tagged the opal holder in the ribs with his fist.
Roderick .def. Artemus, 5-3 in 15
They were ready to go and got right into the second match. Roddy took an early lead when his fist found Arty. The hits kept comin after that. Roddy took Arty out of the air with a wicked uppercut and then got Arts to move away from one fist and into another. Arty finally managed to trip Roddy up when he tried some fancy footwork and got himself on the board. Roddy couldn’t be kept down thought! He came back with another fist to get within reach of the win, then dodged and landed a counter strike for the win. Sealing his victory in two matches to avoid gettin tossed into the Pit.
Roderick .def. Artemus, 5-1 in 7
Well tried, Artyboy. Well won, Roddy.
