On the night of November 13th, Erik Winterborn and Jaycy Alexander did battle over the right to the Barony of Dragon's Gate!
Jaycy's particulars -
Colors: Azure, black, silver, and forest green coloring
Second: Roderick Douglas (absent, as he was fighting to acquire MoonBeryl over in the Outback). Pslyder seconded the Second
Lord of Honor: Pslyder
Erik's particulars -
Colors: White on blue
Second: Gwen Minx (absent)
Lady of Honor: None
Jaycy wanted a best-of-three format and, as Baron, she got it!
Duel 1
The Warlord got on the board in the first round and then Jaycy in the second. After that, it was a lot of feeling-each-other-out (figuratvely). Jaycy wound up opening a nice solid lead; Erik closed the gap considerably. In the end, Jaycy took home the victory to lead 1-0 in duels.
Jaycy / Erik
Round 1: SS / LC (0-1)
Round 2: LC / SH (1-1)
Round 3: TH / DU (2-1)
Round 4: HC / HC (2-1)
Round 5: FSS / SS (2-1)
Round 6: FCP / CP (2-1)
Round 7: DI / TH (2.5-1)
Round 8: HC / SH (3.5-1)
Round 9: SL / LC (3.5-2)
Round 10: HC / TH (3.5-3)
Round 11: LC / SS (4.5-3)
Round 12: LP / LP (4.5-3)
Round 13: CP / LC (5-3)
Thirteen rounds on the thirteenth day. Just thought I'd point that out.
Duel 2
After a very short break, Duel 2 commenced. This time, after a tentative start from both duelers, Jaycy channeled all the good mojo she could from Bladesingers past and put on a clinic, shutting out the Warlord and ensuring her continued reign as Baroness of Dragon's Gate.
Jaycy / Erik
Round 1: CP / CP (0-0)
Round 2: SH / LP (0-0)
Round 3: FCP / LC (1-0)
Round 4: FLP / TH (2-0)
Round 5: LC / LC (2-0)
Round 6: SH / SL (3-0)
Round 7: LC / SS (4-0)
Round 8: SH / SL (5-0)
Twenty-One total rounds, thirteen total points, and one defended Barony. Not bad for a night's work.
Congratulations to Jaycy for retaining her Barony, to Pslyder for retaining his Squireship, and to Erik for receiving a lesson he's sure to put to good use!
