August All-Ranks Tournament
Hello, patrons of the Duel of Magic!
It's time once again for the All-Ranks Tournament... but things are going to be a little different from now on. With the new Duel of Magic, we will no longer be passing out wins galore every cycle, but we will be giving alternative prizes. We're going back to themed tournaments, but they will be a little different. Rather than a strictly seasonal theme, the tournaments will be themed according to the four Elemental Keepers, in line with the season. Each Keeper will be allowed to take care of theming and decorating the isle for their tournament if they wish, and Keeper Gems for the respective element will be given in those tournaments.
The fall ART in October will be themed by the Keeper of Air. The Christmas ART in December will be an ART where all wins in the tournament will be put on the standings, everyone will fight at Wizard, and it will be themed by the Archmage. The winter ART in February will be themed by the Keeper of Water. The spring ART in April will be themed by the Keeper of Earth. The summer ART in June will be themed by the Keeper of Fire. And lastly, the end of summer ART in August will be taken care of by me; I will be awarding Mana Vessels instead of Keeper Gems, and it will be a MegaCast. Keepers may enter their own tournament to earn their gems.
Except for this year. We're not quite ready to do a MegaCast with the new Duel of Magic, so this year we will be switching the MegaCast to December and the wins ART will be this ART right here.
So this ART will be the kind of ART everyone's been used to for the past few years. Everyone will fight at Wizard, and wins earned in the tournament will be added to the standings. The format will likely be double elimination depending on the number of participants, and the seeding will be done according to the cycle rankings.
The tournament will tentatively take place on Wednesday, August 24th, at 9:00 PM RDT with ten minutes of grace given for pre-registrants who have not yet arrived. Walk-ins can enter during this period. Neither Sai nor myself are available at that time to run the tournament, so we will have to find an official to run the tournament for us. If we can't, we will reschedule.
Post your pre-registrations as replies to this thread. Good luck and have fun, everyone!
