Xeric

I sure did officiate up in here! And it was an interesting duel! The challenger, Xeric, fought under the colors of red, green, and blue, with no second and Asharee Mues as his Lady of Honor in absentia. The challengee, Ellisa, fought under the standard of a silver dragon on a black field, with Vincent V.M. Smith as her second and Camui Rei as her Lord of Honor, also in absentia. Where's the love, huh?!

Unfortunately, the first four rounds were just dreadful. Nobody scored at all. And then finally, in the fifth, Ellisa managed to trap Xeric's thrust for the first point. She traded cuts with Xeric in the sixth, but outflanked his parry in the seventh to bring it to three and one. One round of inactivity later, Xeric showed that he would not be defeated quite so easily by authoritatively parrying away Ellisa's thrust. But the momentum would not last, as she parried away Xeric's cut to bring it to four and two. But Xeric was still not to be underestimated. He trapped Ellisa's thrust, ducked under her parry, then thrusted over her cut to suddenly take a four and a half to four lead. However, Ellisa again reclaimed momentum, swinging into his stepping form and then parrying away his cut to end it at five and a half to four and a half.

Ellisa Morgan remains the Baroness of Old Market! Congratulations Ellisa, and well tried, Xeric!
