On the side of the Red Dragon Inn, a 30x10 foot sign was posted. It simply read:
"You're Invited to the Wedding of Rand alTan and Tristanie Minx, the 21 day of the August moon. He's giving up his harem this time!"
Tristanie grinned wickedly, it was a naughty grin, even for a Minx. Her full lips quirked upwards as she read the words out loud and slid sideways grins to passer-bys with well wishes. This would teach a man to mess with her; she warned him. If he won the duel he won her hand in marriage, it had worked the first time. She even had witnesses; the kind that can be bought for a sum. Silly Rand.
She chose a date that was far enough in the future that she'd have plenty of opportunity to dissolve the future union; but for at least a week or two, she was going to enjoy her first minxish plot in some time. She turned on a booted heel and headed for the wedding store; this was the good thing about having thieves in the family, there was rarely a shortage of Minx money.
She'd already discussed with Gwen the next naughty Minx plot, but that would be put off a few more days... life was finally starting to feel less frail, dare she say fun?

She stared at the sign, brows almost furrowed.
"What kind of people want an entire city to attend an event?" The thought of that many people drinking and celebrating, all mushy made Kaprielle nauseous. She would make a mental note to be in another town that week. She shook her head and moved off to the Island, in search of a mark.
If she saw the squirrel she'd ask him what he was thinking...besides the obvious, that man was clearly nuts...

"Twould seem that Rand forgot he already had a wife."
Morgan was normally quite liberal about matters of flirtation, lust, and infatuation--never demanding monogamy, open to new experiences. However, this made her quite unhappy. She should have been afforded some accord in something of this nature.
To say she was hurt was an understatement.
