Who Wants To Be Mentored?!

Post by Carley »

Tacked up somewhere in the Outback was a vanilla scented parchment, the writing on it done in pencil in a loopy script.

On account of the fact I have attained the rank of Emerald, I feel I should take on someone to mentor. I would make a good mentor because:

*I kick ass.

*I am very cute so I'll make a real good cheerleader, especially since I will buy a pom pom to offer extra encouragement while you're getting your butt kicked.

*I have dueled an ice golem and won.

*I have dueled a bear and won.

Anyone interested in being mentored by me needs to sign their name and give me a good reason why I should. I'll pick who I feel is most suitable.

-Carley Q.

((Remember kids, the Mentor/Mentee system is a real thing! Whoever Carley chooses gets an actual, factual real extra fancy to use in dueling when she's there doing her Mentorly duties! Have fun with this!))

It would be my pleasure and honor to be mentored by you, Carley. I would make a good mentee because:

* I suppose I'm a pretty alright guy.

* I take losses gracefully, so that in combination with your cheerleading means I'll keep on keepin' on.

* I have dueled a crazy-ass vampire and won.

* I have dueled Anubis and won.

* That wand I promised you ended up costing a lot of money. Should have just settled with water or ice, you picky non-Squire.

Thank you for considering me. Also, I'll still train you if you don't pick me, so no pressure.

I haven't dueled in Fists in a while, and I wanna get back into it. What better way to get back in than by learnin' from someone who knows what they're doin'? Here's why ya should pick ME.

* My little bro's pretty alright, but I'm freakin' awesome. I'm absolutely legen-- wait for it...

* I never give up! With yer cute cheering in combination with my burnin' spirit, my ascension to Emerald alongside ya is all but inevitable!

* I have dueled Anubis.

* I ain't bribin' you with unsquirely training an' some fancy-shmancy magickin' wand!

* I write on the corkboard with my accent! See?

* ...dary.

Thanks fer considerin' me!

Written in a flowing hand, akin to the elven language but legible as the common tongue of the land:

I believe that I would benefit most greatly from your mentor-y wisdom, and here's why.

*I fought that ice golem and lost. I could use some pointers, or at least encouragement while such mystical creatures are breaking my face.

*I fought you and lost, which is usually a requirement for a sensei taking on a student. Mentors aren't senseis, but you see my logic.

*I am an elf, and you are an elf, and we elves must stick together in the face of great persecution. Right?

*I made your helmet shiny. Shiny!

That is all,

Ahhhhh I haven't dueled Anubis in 10 years but I remember breaking him in ;)

I want to fight the Bear (met him) he seems very tired but willing duel.

I guess The only reason I am posting her is because you have three people applying.

Here are my extremely horrible credentials.

I won the last ever Glass Jaw Joed award. (1998)

Sucessfully challenged Robert for ShadoWeaver.
Defended against Malefestra, 4-14-98.

Matt took it from me because I could no longer go to the outback ((I HATE AOL)) Which I am sure he might of had a "chance", a slim one at that to take it form me. aquired it on 2-23-98

I made it to the final round of DQ 13, and lost in the first round. Came back to win 9 in a row to make it to the final round.

Killer got win for stay in fight for Diamond jaw.. Gol.. Matt try make go home... Killer take all time can, make Matt lot tired before finish fight with win! 14 rounds, fight 5-4 end!

Lol sorry Matt most of these people know you with 400 wins. So I gotta pick at yas.

Killer got fight Kelli, not look like got lot chance. Kelli on big roll! Kelli keep roll, get three point right away! But Killer keep fight, keep fight.. lose 4-1, come back. Come back, keep come back.. take 11 round, come all way back, win 5-4! Lot exciting fight!
((this is goon my favorite caller of all time))

Then I lost int he final round

5-4 to Jeff Oakenshield. Lol I also attend three other DQS.

So I think I make somewhat of a case to take on a mantee.

Cheers,
Kel

((Sorry for hijacking the thread You look like your getting plenty of attention :P ))

I think I've got as many people as I'm gonna be getting. It's just a real shame Eri ain't in a position I can mentor her, because if she was applying that'd be no contest.

Addressing Kel first, I've gotta say it sounds like you've done all kinds of neat and impressive things. But the fact of the matter is you've done it. You got high in rank and got to challenge for those opalthings. The fact you've done it before, and without help, lets me know you can very well do it again. I don't feel you'd gain much from my amazing tootelage. -or however the hell you spell that.

Jin, on account of you sounding like a big jackass, I am hereby renaming you Jinass. You make yourself sound real special and I don't think I've heard of you before. SlaverSlayer is way more impressive.

And speaking of, that brings me down to Light and SlaverSlayer.

SlaverSlayer is really awesome and tough. But sometimes I think he takes it way too far. Light is also awesome, but as Tough Stuff puts it - he's a Twinkletoes.

Then again you both suck for trying to guilt me into picking you with wands and shiny helmets.

While I probably should pick between one of you here and now, I can't. So I'm real curious about how the both of you, Light and SlaverSlayer, would feel about dueling each other sometime to determine who I'm gonna be mentoring?
