December on Twilight Isle

Greetings and welcome to a magical December on Twilight Isle,

To celebrate this special time of year we will have "Dueling for Wizards" on the isle every Tuesday this month. What is "Dueling for Wizards"? During regular dueling hours this month every winner will be given a wizard figurine upon leaving the ring. That means everytime a duel is one. This is a perfect opportunity to get presents for loved ones, trimmings for your tree, or anything else you may come up with.

We will of course also have the December All Ranks Tournament. It will happen on Wednesday, December 9th at 10:15 pm EST. (The odd start time is due to my current work schedule.) In the spirit of the season and because time will likely not permit a double elimination tournament everyone participating in the tournament will be awarded the participation prize. The format of the tournament will be determined by the number of entries, most likely single elimination format. All duelers are elegible to enter (including those not yet listed in the standings). Everyone, regardless of rank, may use the basic eight spells as well as the four advanced spells throughout the tournament. Your wins from the tournament will be added to your overall DoM record. (Losses will not be added, of course) That will be the case no matter of the format we will end up using. Should the participation be high to where dueling is not concluded by 2 AM EST, we will conclude the tournament on the next day. Bye rounds, should any be awarded, will be determined by the RoK Standings.

Tournament setting

The isle looked festive and wintery this evening. Despite the always balmy temperature on the isle, the gnarled old trees sported a dusting of glittery snow and even a few icicles. Snow men and ladies stood about and an ice castle with an ice carriage, including ice horses parked in front of the ice castle as if awaiting passenders. Standing inside a ring offered the best possible view of the tall yule tree and its decorations of ribbons, fruits, nuts, and baked treats. The ring ropes were decorated with everygreens and ribbons. Even the tables appeared festive with Yule season center pieces. And everywhere one looked tiny colored fairy lights flickered cheerfully.

The goblins had been busy to make the evening an especially festive one. Eggnogg, Russian tea, mulled wine and spiced cider awaited patrons along with decorated cookies, holiday breads and cakes, and savory hors d'oeuvres.

Greetings Everyone

And thank you to everyone who came to the isle last evening, to you who participated and to you who came to enjoy the festivities and cheer. You who wanted to be there but were kept from making it by fierce dragons, flood waters, or other just as valid reasons, you were missed and I hope the fates will be kinder to you when you are trying to attend the next event.

At the end of the evening Drake Genais emerged as the overall winner with Sivanna placing second and Mart placing third. Congratulations to all the winners.

Prizes were awarded as follows:
