She sits within the confines of her office. The news is spread before her as well as the rebuttals. There is a glass of wine in one hand and a glowing globes within the other. The room is filled with the sounds of combat and a female cursing. A glowing long sword rests upon the papers.

The Elder Shadowknight studies the orb carefully. She had to give an *A* for effort and showmanship. She also had to commend the fact he was able to get the reactions he desired, particularly outrage.

~Reminds me of Thegrin, daughter.~ Came the rumble of the sword.

"Yes, up until he betrayed you all." She remarked casually as she sipped her wine. "Still there is a roughness to him. He prefers to be out in the open."

~And you daughter?~ The sword rumbled again.

"The power behind the throne." She laughed softly. "He will not last long at this rate before the other barons band together and rise up against him... Neither will the other."

She read over the accounts of the death's of the children. She was shaking her head over the needless deaths.

~What is it daughter?~ The sword rumbled once again.

"This keeps up he will have single-handedly destroyed the population of the district. It is a needless waste of lives for the sake of ones vanity."

~Probably meant as a lesson.~ You could almost hear the shrugging in that tone.

"Hmm, There are other ways to mete out lessons on the ignorant. Mass murder just adds to the growing resentment and ultimate uprising. It was the one thing the armies feared when Asmodius was murdered."

~There is that. What is this about him targeting Catholics?~

"Far too short sighted as they are a minority religion in this lands." The Ravinist sighed softly. "Hells, far more people ascribe to the following of Kairee than this Catholic god."

She studied the random clippings. "The lesson seems to have backfired and now the Dark Mage is under challenge."
