November AMT

Post by DUEL Topaz »

Greetings Everyone,

The next AMT will be held on Monday 9 November on Twilight Isle (RoH location) at 9:00 pm EST.

Byes, if any will occur, will be passed out according to the RoK rankings. The format will be either round robin or double elimination or best of three, depending on participation.

Good luck everyone,
Duel Topaz

I believe that it is time to ascend and take the Celestial Tower for my own purposes. I shall attend.

I'm going to attempt to attend as well.

Vanion, I could be mistaken but I think your most recent retirement left you at only 19 WoL. If so, then I would assume you could pick up your 20th win on Sunday's Fight night in time for Monday's tournament. I'm certainly not the official record keeper, but I do think I noticed that you retired at wizard rank.

Vanion,

Lem is correct. I became the historian for the Duel of Magic in your absence, and you retired with 19 WoL, thus, at Wizard rank. Be assured that as much as I absolutely detest you, I would not slight you in the histories. I'm not so petty. In fact, I even took the consideration to list you with your preferred name. I'm confident my research is correct, but I will accept corrections as long as you can prove they're correct.

I wish I could assure you that you would be able to participate in the AMT Monday if you increase your WoL by 1, but it's not my call. You'll have to take that up with Topaz. But I am rooting for you to get in, because very little would satisfy me more than to humiliate you and close that excessively big mouth of yours, or to see one of the other Mages do it.

Hmm. It seems that technicality shall delay the inevitable one cycle. So shall it be.

Results of the November AMT!

First off, thanks to Lem, Rena, Tass, Neo and Topaz for their participation in this Tournament! Here’s how the action went down last night

For the first round of fights, Tass had the bye by RoK ranking.

Neo Eternity def Topaz 5-3.5 in 8 rounds
Lem DeAngelo def Rena A Cronin 5-2 in 11 rounds

Round two gave Neo the bye due to his win and 2nd place ranking in RoK standings.

Rena A Cronin def Topaz 5-2 in 6 rounds.
Tasslehofl Momus def Lem DeAngelo 5-3.5 in 14 rounds

Round two saw our first elimination with Topaz, Neo and Tass with one win a piece, Lem and Rena with a win and loss apiece.

Round Three, no byes!

Neo Eternity def Tasslehofl Momus 5-0 in 7 rounds
Lem DeAngelo def Rena A Cronin 5-4 in 11 rounds

Round three brought our second elimination with Rena and the surprise resignation form the Tournament by Lem. This brought us to the final matches between undefeated Neo and Tass with a loss on his record.

However, that was quick to change as Tass brought home the first match of the Finals!

Tasslehofl Momus def Neo Eternity 5-.5 in 8 rounds

And in a very close match, Tasslehofl Momus took the final match and the Tournament with a back to back win over Neo!

Tasslehofl Momus def Neo Eternity 5-4 in 12 rounds

Congratulations on your victory Tass and good luck in your challenge!

Once more, thanks to everyone that participated, it was an honor and pleasure to be the official for this event!

Alrighty then! Do I have a challenge match to tell you guys about! The Nexus was rather unfriendly with me, but luckily enough, it left me alone so I could officiate this nail-biting challenge!

And boy, was it a nail-biter! Especially the first duel! It was a nineteen round see-saw affair that ended with Tass leading 6 to 5! The second duel started with Tass leading, but Vinny took the lead and kept it all the way to a 5 to 4 victory in 14 rounds! Which brings us to the last duel! Vinny dominated this one too, and brought it home with a 5 to 2 victory in 8 rounds!

Vincent V.M. Smith remains Archmage!

Congratulations to Vincent V.M. Smith for defending his title for the third consecutive time, and congratulations to John Tasslehofl Momus for his victory in the tournament, and a well fought challenge!
