Challenge for Old Temple, or whatever they call it now....

Post by Anubis Karos »

Max Quinlan Blue,

It was quite brave of you to challenge me when I was in the midst of a que. Well now, I'm back. I challenge you for your ring.

Oh...and should I win the ring...any female who challenges me and fails will risk a collar.

....The gods know I should have used this policy earlier in my career; A TDL superstar and captain of the Wrecking Crew would have earned me 10,000 gold on the block.

Nublet,

You can't even call what you had a queue until I challenged you. And technically, when we did the actual challenge, I was the only one left. So there was no queue.

Ladies, don't worry. He's not good enough to handle me.

Why don't you bring Dawn with you? I miss her already. We didn't get a chance to talk the last time.

Bring it, Slaver, but this time you're going to be in real pain. I promise you.

I love when you take a stroll down memory lane, Anubis. Don't let your mind wander too far, though. It's way too damn small to be out by itself. Keep poking and you just may make me decide that I want to conquer this sport like I did TDL despite there being no money involved.

If you're short on baseball bats, Max, hit me up. I'd be honored to lend you one to smack over that knuckle-dragger's forehead.

The fact Anubis would entertain the idea that he could possibly accomplish something like that without the whole Crew kicking down his door makes me laugh.

But...at the same time, if M makes good on her threat of conquering the sport if he keeps needling her, I gotta say that I'm all for the windbag to keep talkin'. Call me selfish.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, I was honored to officiate the challenge for the Barony of Old Temple, between the Warlord Anubis Karos and the reigning Baron Max Blue.

The Warlord dueled under the banner of the Eye of Ra, entwined with a viper. He named no second, and no Lady of Honor.

The Baron dueled under no colors or standard. His second was Baroness Jaycynda Ashleana, and his Lady of Honor was Altara d'Poison.

Before the match could start, the Overlady Teagan Rielea indicated that she intended to intercede on behalf of Baron Blue. After a series of failed negotiations with the Baron of Dockside, Ticallion Carter, the Warlord stepped into the ring to face the Overlady.

The Overlady opened quickly by catching the Warlord as he attempted to duck. The two crossed blades twice consecutively before the Warlord ducked under the Overlady's fourth straight cut to halve his deficit. He took the lead as he caught the Overlady trying to step aside with a high slice. They traded cuts, then the Overlady took the lead back with a gained positional advantage.

The Overlady brought it to match point by cutting below the Warlord's bookended parry, but the Warlord brought the lead down to a half a point by getting out of the way of the Overlady's lunge - the only one by either combatant in the match. The Warlord sliced low to follow, but the Overlady parried it away and riposted for the victory.

Having lost to the Overlady, the Warlord was forced to accede defeat, and the Barony of Old Temple was defended.
