Alais is #2 in the challenge queue, actually. Max's challenge will come after that.DUEL Michiko wrote:Challenge 1 is currently pending. I'll post results as soon as the match in complete.

I accept the notion of Monday, and I believe that we should commence at 8 by Rhydin's clock. I have yet to decide on the format.
Incidentally, I am uncertain as to how much honor and prestige you think you will glean from defeating me under these conditions. Either way, should you or Blue be granted the victory by the gods of war, expect to face me in the challenge ring again very soon.

I was fortunate enough to be able to officiate the match on Monday, August 31, between the Warlady Alais d'Nitesong, and the Baron of Old Temple Anubis Karos.
The Warlady dueled under the Nitesong colors of silver and dark blue. Hersecond was Overlord Tasslehofl Momus, and her Lord of Honor was Khirsah Tavadon, in absentia.
The Baron dueled under the standard of the Eye of Ra, with a viper entwined. His second was, whether he liked it or not, G'nort Dragoon-Talanador, in absentia. His Lady of Honor was Dawn Shadowsbane-Karos.
The Baron elected for the best two out of three, and we were off.
The first match opened with the Baron claiming the first point off a positional advantage. The Warlady was able to halve the deficit, successfully disengaging. After a round of traded cuts, the Baron avoided the Warlady's lunge to bring the lead to a point and a half. A trade of cuts and two rounds of defensive impasse followed, before the Warlady brought the duel to within a point with a fine bookended parry of a lunge. Her subsequent cut was parried to the sand to give the first match to the Baron.
The second duel was what one might call an "instant classic". This one started much like the first, with the Baron claiming a full point defensive, and the Warlady coming back with an advantage of her own. The Warlady followed this by pressing her advantage, and claiming her first lead of the challenge. After mirrored cuts, the Warlady once more landed a lunge over the Baron's cut to extend a lead. A round of defensive impasse led into the Warlady bringing the lead to two points; however the Baron followed this up with two successive points to knot the match.
A round of defensiveness, and then the Warlady cut over the Baron's brace to bring it to match point. The Baron returned by tripping the Warlady to send it back to tied - surprisingly, the last clean hit of the match. Another round of defensive indifference before the Baron was once again dissed by the Warlady. The Baron took the lead with a parry and flourish off the Warlady's cut as we headed out of regulation and into overtime.
As we entered overtime, the Warlady took the lead right back with a positional advantage, and a round of defense followed. The Baron drew level by blocking off the Warlady's low cut, but the Warlady responded with two successful defensive maneuvers to end the match after twenty rounds.
Where the second duel had much intensity, the third match was sorely lacking. The Baron took a lead, scoring four points in the first five rounds without so much as a lick from the Warlady. The match ended with traded cuts, as the Warlady avoided a shutout, but could not prolong the match.
Thus, Anubis has defended the Barony of Old Temple for the third time. He has one remaining challenge in queue as we speak.
