I don't know what to title this. Rant?
To whom it may concern,
Well, I tried. Several times, in fact. On your 'issue challenge' button that never worked--which I told you.
And then I posted it on here with a couple e-mails sent to you and Xeric about it when nothing seemed to work because I was getting a little paranoid about this. Xeric's player and I even talked about dates for setting the match via e-mails on here maybe a day or two after the tournament, and that Drey would make it even more public with the delivery of the standings and/or official statement here on this cork from the official, which became G. Sorry for the run-on sentence.
Anyway. Maybe I shouldn't be, I don't know, but I'm a little perturbed. And I guess if this stands. . . If this is the way it is then why burn my nights in here when nothing works and it backfires? Why sit in a Warlord Tournament until 3 o' clock in the morning with 2 people that'll actually "roleplay" while the others are just props in the background? Why argue this further when anything I say will probably be refuted and I'll break no ground because its quite plausible that I'm debating with hard-headed individuals (it's possible I just may be the hard-headed one). Maybe I'm just getting too ahead of myself. Maybe I'm just being silly. I can recognize this, I suppose. But silly or not, this stinks. I come here to have fun, and this isn't fun.
I think this place is fantastic. You all are some great people. I mean that, too. Not even sarcastic. I really have some fun with you all, and this new website really is wonderful. You all are doing a great job, but I know how this all rolls out in this place. And I really don't care to see it out. It was a short return to this place, and I don't think you all need me back.
Sorry for the rant.

Since I can't log in as Face because I tried changing my email for that said Issue Challenge button. I came home tonight from an IM from Cassius saying that he would talk to those involved about the challenges.
As stated to Imp the other night, I had been waiting for the official results to be posted before challenging for the sound reason that it only makes sense IC. Otherwise people just see a random challenge and are like, huh? Things happen IRL and I know Cassius's player had a lot of things going on that upcoming weekend that could have derailed him for a bit from posting the standings. I didn't see a real urgency to complain to anyone about it and thought that the time began AFTER the posting of the results.
This past weekend was my weekend of craziness and when I logged on last night at the conclusion of it all I came to an IM from Cassius if I was going to use my challenge still. Explained to him all of the above and he told me the general results were posted. So I went and made the post on the forums for the challenge and tried the issue challenge button. (Yes, still have yet to get the email at my new email to activate the account again
)
I assume that the right thing will be done in this situation as I know that neither player losing their challenges were slacking off on pressing and in fact were simply waiting on results as to avoid causing miscommunications to begin with. Not many players were online when the tournament ended and many people in fact didn't know the results when I spoke with them outside of character.
I put no blame on anyone in this situation and chalk it up as simply things happen and a lot of assumptions were likely made. Hopefully everything is made right for the positive side of the sport and environment as this will be highly difficult to play out IC for one, and secondly it is definitely not in any way interesting for there to be two null and void challenges from this situation.
My rant is done now
Sorry for those that went through the pain of reading it all. I need to go to bed though because I need to teach in the morning and spent too much time out hanging out with a buddy from out of state tonight.
((Also, if anyone wants to try to contact me in IM about reactivating Face Loran that would be glorious
You can catch me on BRWrestler112 on AIM. Thank you all for the wonderful work you all put into this enviroment/game!))

Drey & Face,
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention; your posts have spurred a larger discussion amongst the Admin team since not all of us were aware of the circumstances involving the delay(s).
In the end, the final decision is G's as he's the DoS Coordinator, but rest assured your concerns are being given due consideration and aren't being ignored in the least. We definately want to make sure that the tools available to players (like the challenge button) work correctly and that we get better about posting results of challenges and tournaments in a timely manner.

If Drey mun wishes to, he can post all of the PMs we sent back and forth. I could be wrong, but I believe the only official challenge I got from him was on the 4th. I did receive an OOC PM from him on the 27th, but he was going to wait until the results were posted to send the challenge. I received an OOC PM from him on the 4th, however, I did not receive an E-MAIL. I received that letter on the 4th, two days past the week given by the rules.
I guess there is an argument to be made on both sides.

The day I e-mailed you, Xeric-mun, was in fact after I did the 'issue challenge' button for the first time. I got nervous and sent the letter twice, to be exact (because it said something about it should be 'saved' in my inbox? And I saw nothing there to confirm that?). And then I sent you that message as a sort of blind test to confirm that this was indeed received. Then I wanted Drey to make the official public announcement following an official public confirmation, which happened to be really, really delayed. But the actual challenge was pressed earlier, alas unbeknownst.

Yeah, thats cool. Whateverrrr.
I'm just waiting for it to be written in the standings before Drey officially says anything.
So then yeah, I'm definitely leaning toward a Wednesday or Thursday night then. Like 9 EST or so?"
After this letter, albeit after the expired week after further discussion I began to ascertain that maybe nobody received this letter once and for all. And so I sent it again--twice--which were quickly followed with worried e-mails to G and Xeric in regard.
That's all.

Yeah, I did. I'll try it again. =/
That was the first conformation I had from you that an official challenge had been sent. Did you issue challenge before the 4th?
Yeah. The "I did" implied I did it a long time ago.
