Overlord Grant Challenge

I had intended to challenge the Baron of Seaside but I do not think I can now. And it seems most barons are declaring their loyalty to Overlord Roland except for G, who I will not challenge. I think the choice was made for me that way, as there is only one person left.

With the Overlord Grant, I challenge Horatio Benvolio Macbeth for the Old Temple Barony.

Teagan was Overlord Rollo's champion for the Overlord Grant Tournament. Clearly she feels a bit of loyalty to him and doesn't want to take out one of his loyal barons.

And, just before anyone has an opportunity to accuse me of changing my alignment just to avoid this challenge, I announced in the middle of the Arena that I was going to request to be a loyal long before a winner was decided.

Old Temple Challenge Match
February 2, 2008

I had the pleasure, I would be Tera "Des" Starfare of Westridge, of presiding over the Challenge Match for the Barony of Old Temple. It did so happen that Teagan posted her Challenge but Horatio didn't answer so Chris turned the matter over to OverLord Roland and the Baron's Council after declaring Horatio in forfeit! Now it wasn't long before Roland came back and posted they had decided upon a Champion to duel against Teagan. They decided was gonna be Sartan.

Sartan had no colors, his Lady of Honor was his lovely wife Rory Laurent and his second was Nova Grey Shadow who was there watching it all while building quite an intricate house of cards as Lydia (who is part owner of A Stitch in Time) watched him when she wasn't trying to steal one of the cards and drinking Erin's left over lemonade she stole.

Teagan had no colors, no Lord of Honor, and no second. Strangely enough nobody was heckling her tonight or trying to break her concentration. Kai was there to watch and this here new guy that landed in RhyDin I believe only last night named Darius who I think was on his way to France or some place like that I heard tell and him and Rina was talking and watching the Match. Rena was there tonight but didn't even mention our upcoming fashion week shopping trip which was a bit disappointing.

Anyhow Sartan was quite the Gentleman as he has been showing since becoming the Diamond and he let Teagan decide the format. She picked best 2 of 3 and we were off dueling! Things started out grimly for Sartan as he ducked way low right into a thrust. They then traded cuts and there was then some shuffling around with the score 2 - 1 Teagan's favor. Sartan defended the wrong way in round 4 but stopped Teagan's thrust cold in round 5. In 6 it was Teagan's turn to feel the sting of a cut past the wrong parry and then in 7 Sartan stopped her dead on again bringing the score to 4 - 3 Sartan's favor. It wasn't long til we were at 4 - All then Teagan came in over the top for the win at 5 - 4.

Neither wanted to rest and I'll be danged if they didn't start off the second duel the exact same way they did the first folks! Second round though Sartan's thrust met air as Teagan danced mighty right on outta the way bringing the score to 2 - 0 Teagan. Third round Sartan still didn't make it on the board as he got tripped up. Fourth round things are looking really bad for Sartan with the score 4 - 0 Teagan as we headed into round 5 where Sartan parried away a thrust for 4 - 1 score. Then we stalled for a couple rounds then before you knew it we were at round 9 already and they were trading cuts again but this time Teagan brought home the win at 5 - 2 for all the marbles and the Barony of Old Temple even though Sartan really fought well tonight!!!

Congrats Baroness Teagan! (who said she is Loyal to the Overlord!)
