Random Insight:

It seems almost providential that the two victors that relied most on their inner strength to power them through the first round against the odds meet up with each other in the quarterfinals. Felix showed what he's made of as he knocked Xerzes Maureen for a loop, only taking a close loss in Magic when the win was already assured. Vinny showed those flashes of brilliance I had hoped for in an awesome Fists victory against Matt Simon, who is quite possibly the best Fists dueler in the history of dueling, and also only took a close loss in Swords after he had won the match by the numbers. I look forward to seeing how they will handle this match, which will be determined more by who wants the victory more than either of the matches leading up to it. In Magic, Vinny is the favorite by a considerable margin even if one only considers the results of the first round. Felix was down 3-0 to Xerzes before making his comeback to lose by a point and a half, but Vinny is not likely to give up half of his lead in such a situation. Therefore, the flow of the match will rest on how close Felix can keep the Magic duel. Swords, on the other hand, is where Felix has shined so far in the Duel Master, and the area where Vinny has fallen short, so a big win by Vinny in the Magic duel could easily be brought back or even overcome by Felix if he takes control of the duel like he did with Xerzes. Fists, however, will be the most hotly contested of the match. Both duelists took their opponents in the first round unawares with a brilliant display of fists and feet, and it will truly be a contest of the wills in this Fists duel. It is here where the impatience Felix and Vinny displayed in their losses in the first round will come into play, and whoever can keep their focus will take this duel and likely the match. Though Felix shows all the signs of being able to make a big comeback, I'm going to back Vinny for the overall match victory here, as the way the disciplines are likely to pan out he will arrive at the Fists duel in the lead, and I have little doubt that another strike of inspiration will allow him to take the win right then and there.

EDIT: Vinny pointed out, quite correctly, that he won the Swords duel by a large margin and lost the Fists closely, instead of the other way around as I reported it. Therefore, I switch my predictions for the two, with Felix having a good chance in Fists and the Swords match being the decisive duel, with Vinny still coming out the winner. Sorry for the mixup!
