Old Market Challenge Results

Thursday night, January 18, 2007 Sartan W used the prize he won from the Fall Warlord Tournament to challenge the baroness of Old Market, Anjolie Quinn-Havoick. The baroness had her husband, Johnathan Havoick as second and their daughter, Kallie as lady of honor in absentia. The warlord had Vercererix Favre as his second and Nova Grey as his man of honor, both in absentia. At the stroke of 9PM, the warlord and baroness proceeded to do battle but the overlord interceded, to the surprise and/or dismay of many in attendance. The baron of New Haven, Cassius Gaius Maximius, seemed ready to step in for the warlord but decided against it, for reasons at the time known only to himself.
The battle finally began with the first round going to the overlord with a thrust over the warlord's cut. Cory scored the next two rounds then the scoring stalled in the fourth round, both high cutting. Sartan scored in round 5, cutting low at the stepping overlord. Cory got the point back in the next round then Sartan cut the lead in half in the seventh. The eighth round found them trading cuts, Cory high and Sartan low but the trade gave Cory the win. The intercession and the win allowed the baroness to not have to duel Sartan and to keep her ring.

I must say that this match would seem to be null and void.

As per the rules dictated by Xeno in his post concernting the WLT, you will find the following:

6. There will be two prizes: an Overlord Challenge and a Baron Challenge, both intercession-free.

That was a mistake on the announcement post that was not caught by myself, however it was cleared on the night of the challenge.

It's his bloody wife, and Sartan had a bye for a round anyways in the tournament. Good for Cory. It is a shame that you are all so complacent that you cannot wake up and enjoy it when something unusual happens.
