We are missing the important points made in this thread.

1) Gnimish is a turd.

2) Farek posted? Farek's back? He secretly cares? wtf.

3) LSU's going to need help from the Hand of God to have a chance to play Ohio State in the National Championships, suckas.

4) I doubt that this is "just a silly game" to anyone who has posted on this thread; and whenever competition rises, emotions heat up, things get taken out of context or misunderstood, there will be confrontations on occaison. I can't really defend Elijah's misunderstanding and conclusion-jumping here in this thread, but I don't really feel like many players on these forums respond to him in a way that is good for him or anybody else. Instance? Why, if you don't like him publically calling people out when he's pissed off, would you publically call him out? Some things are maybe better worked out in private, and that suggestion's not meant to be something antagonistic but something that I have found works a hell of a lot better with players who have a lot of passion and emotion.

Nobody likes having themselves or their intentions called out on a public bored (besides Gnimish). Do you? Let's kill this thread and let this silliness go. <3

And Anjolie's cool, I definitely doubt that there was any real OOC influence in her decision on the challenge. Though Vanion would certainly like to kick the male Overlords of the recent past in the pants for being whipped and giving their girls the Overlord Grant.

LSU has two losses. Not even the Hand of God could help them there.

The national championship is going to between two of these five teams: Ohio St, Michigan, USC, Louisville, or WVU. I say WVU and Ohio St.

Did anyone else happen to see my beloved Dawgs lose to Vandy this past weekend? The only way they can make it up to me now is by beating Florida, Auburn, and Tech. It's the only way.

Louisville's going to beat WVU. You heard it here first.

Let's further analyze this phrase, as it is obviously a poignant statement worthy of discussion. Quick, I need someone who isn't me to help me debate.

SOMEONE WHO ISN'T ME: Did she really just call the game silly, after all the hard work people have put into it over so many years? People will be so hurt!

ME: Uh, I don't believe it was said in seriousness.

SOMEONE: How could she say such a thing?!

ME: I believe she was making the point that, if you find yourself so personally insulted because of a character's reasoning for challenging your character that you feel the need to attack that player publicly ... maybe you're taking the game a little too seriously.

SOMEONE WHO I THOUGHT WASN'T ME: The game is too sacred to be called something like silly!

ME: You're silly.

SOMEONE WHO MAY BE ME: I know.

I'm not sure if the thread has been derailed more by me or by the sports talk now...

Kinda hard to compete with sports.

Hm.

I gave it my best though, honest.

I apologize.

This is not a game. IT'S OUR LIFE!!!! I should never have been so sarcastic and flippant when speaking of the Rings of Honor forum. In the future, I promise to profess my faith to RoH daily and will never EVER refer to it as a "silly game" again. I will take it as seriously as I take Zoo Tycoon, Monopoly, and Counterstrike.

And as an act of contrition, I pledge that Jason and I shall name our first child Gondar. Any additional children shall be named after overlords in order of number of defenses. However, we will skip "Cletus". I'm sorry but even my great faith in the Lord God RhyDin cannot overcome that name.

I didn't even bother watching that game. Just heard what happened this morning. Crazy. I hope Carolina doesn't make the same mistake this week.

My point was that this place is more than a silly game - it is a community with a competitive twist (one in which I've seen people take things personally; even people who may usually claim that this place is just a silly game). And within any community, it is important not to socially condemn in a way that is not positive, which is why I suggested dealing with things like this privately in the future if a person may respond better in private. If Elijah had expressed his issues privately, then Anjolie would have been able to calm him down and explain the misunderstanding privately. If everyone else who jumped at Elijah publically had instead spoken to him privately, I wouldn't have had to have heard Grayson mention that horrible, horrible game and there would have been no discussion over midget feces.

I'm sorry if this was not clear, but I hope it clears everything up.

If the winner of the Louisville/West Virginia game drops one, and USC drops one, and Auburn can beat Michigan, don't count out Auburn yet. That's less "ifs" than it sounds like.

The only thing I actually have against Elijah is that rather than come to Artemus IC to learn his reasons for challenging, he put up an IC assumption that Cory had some influence over his decision on whom to challenge. That was not the case, and yes while I felt insulted about his OOC candor during the challenge itself, I had to take a moment to remind myself, afterwards, that pitching a fit wouldn't change the results of the challenge and several people reminded me that it's a matter of taking the high road.

Of course there was also the matter that it is well understood by most of us that Elijah's player believes we're all out to get him booted from the game.

You know, I named my fish "G'nort and Kaja" and I named my cat "Lupton" because I really like kicking her around. There's nothing wrong with realizing it's a silly game.

Funny, I would've pegged rabbits here. . .
Remember, in the end, it's all moo.

Meaning it all gets munched on, spit up, chewed on for a while, swallowed, spit up again, chewed on some more, swallowed again, and dumped on the ground in big steaming piles.

ICly, would *you* want to clean up after G'nort and Kaja?

Exactly, neither would I after bunnies. ;)
