This thread is for all the players involved to introduce their character and give a bit of information about their persona and any other OOC information they feel is necessary.
I'm not a fan of going first, but figure I'll get the ball rolling.
I'm Race, and nearly everyone around this forum knows my characters. Most of you either love them or you hate them on an IC level. Artemus is the Headmaster of the Academy though he's unsure about how to run the school because many on the Faculty have been casting spells for a far longer time frame than himself. The Arcanum Academy is his gift to the city and what he hopes will be his greatest legacy. A place of learning that will not turn any who wish to learn from their doors. People of all ages are accepted, doesn't matter if your character is an absolute novice, or an accomplished mage. There are always new spells to learn, and a bit of brushing up on basics from time to time can go a long way.
That's it for me and my character, who's next?

OOC: The Faculty and Staff.

I'm sure you all have had more than enough OOC info about me over the last few months, so I'll skip that part
Brig agreed to teach some classes because over the years he's done a lot of research into trying to fathom exactly how his magic works. He found there was a lot more of the mathematic and less of the mystical involved than he had ever expected. So now he has a forum to evangelize his more unique view of the art.

I'll go next since it's Friday and my first week is over....
OOC: I'm Lauren. I play Vas and Quinn and a few other characters with the ebb and flow of the seasons. I'm a college student in my third year at the University of Southern Indiana studying to be a history major. My favorite drink is a Hurricane on the Rocks. And I'm desperately in love with the hotness that is Serena!
IC: Vasvrae Hlat'tar-Arab'ep is a rather unconventional drowess from an undisclosed location in the Underdark. She is very young by drow standards and is actually considered only half-drow in the Underdark due to the light blue tint in her black skin. Vasvrae is very well practiced in various archaic forms of magic (not all of which are good) and even though she can be friendly, she is still kniving like her native race.
Vasvrae took this job both as a means of occupying her spare time and also as a way of instructing the Rhy'Din youth as to the dangers of close-mindedness when dealing with other creatures. For her young age the Drowess is well travelled and therefore able to speak on topics of magical beings with a decent about of personal experience. It might also be possible that this will spark an interest in teaching her students the languages of other beings on a more "graduate" level, but that is still to come.

OOC stuff: If y'all don't know by now. . .::chuckle:: Anywho, I'm Ben. As you can see, I play Psly, Moyr, Tom Watcher, and even Kalinda (so yes that means I have a couple different courses here). Been on hiatus for a while, just to recharge the ol' batteries.
IC stuff: Again, if y'all don't know by now. . .there's some big folder in the Streets you really need to read. And another one in the DoF Archives. Besides that, Psly will be teaching several defensive methods, including shielding, grounding, spot-the-mage-and-shooting, bean-the-mage-in-the-noggin-with-a-large-rock, along with other distraction techniques.

A Learning Experience. Typical three-word preamble to a closed-casket funeral service.

And I might as well throw this one in here as well.
OOC stuff you already know. . .or should. . .
IC stuff: Seeing as how Kali's got third year phys. ed., this might need a little time to develop. Two parts anatomy(where to hit), one part martial arts(how to hit), and possibly one part philosophy(why to hit).

I Remember the words of the misguided fool
Do unto others as you'd have them do
Not an eye for an eye is the golden rule
Just leaves a room full of blind men.

(Going to try this again...first time when I was getting ready to hit the submit button, the lights went out.)
OOC: I'm Kathyrn...or Kathy(ask my grandfather why). I play Rena and Kyra and have had a couple of others in for a minute or two. Rena is like me IRL, characterwise. Most know I live in NC.
IC: Rena will not be teaching any classes. Instead, she is the paperpusher, the one the others will come to if they need something they can't get on their own, or if they need it last week. She will be Art's confidence booster, one of his righthand persons and the listener all the faculty will need some day. She will be the troubleshooter, the mediator and, as in the rooms, have her eyes and ears open for information or anything else. She might take a class or two, just to get herself more intune to spellcasting.
