What I didn't understand is why they weren't using Beasley's speed in the last 10 minutes of the game when everyone was tired. Very few long ball attempts. Why didn't we use the last sub for McBride or someone else up front?

Overall it was a great game for us, but when it was 9 v 10 we should have been trying for more long ball offense as it doesn't require as many defenders to push up/make runs.

Hopefully our D is okay without Pope vs. Ghana.

The D should be fine. I don't see Arena going back to a 4-1-4-1, not with Pope out. Maybe a 3-5-2 with Bocanegro, Onyewu and Cherundelo in the back and put Donovan up as an attacking mid. We definitely need an attack minded game plan against Ghana.

Yep, nailed another one. No USA in the second round.

Man, that Zidane headbutt was crazy. Just out of the blue. I guess the guy just lost his cool. But I don't see why he went for the chest and not the mouth and nose...I guess maybe because he didn't want to cut his head on the guy's teeth, but there would have been a lot more blood, that's for sure.

What away to end his career. He'll still be remembered as a great player, but the first thing people are going to think about is that red card moment. ::shakes his head::

To quote John Stewart of "The Daily Show"...

Deciding the World Cup title with penalty kicks is roughly the equivalent of deciding the NBA Championships with a game of Horse.

To be honest this World Cup sucked big time. Way boring.

Even the Tour de France is more exciting this year than the World Cup of soccer was.
