Gathering of the WarDrac

Post by Baphelocutis »

High in the skies over the geography of RhyDin the twelve-meter wingspan of the platinum draconian Baphelocutis swooped great swaths of air with each rhythmic beat of his third set of appendages. The nearly four-meter long spade tipped tail whipped back and forth like a flag in the wind as he flew in wide circles about the outer perimeter of the city-state of RhyDin. He was flying a patrol of the region as part of his usual protectiveness of the denizens of this nexus of the multiverse, RhyDin. His mind was mulling over his agitation of all the recent chaos within the city’s baronial districts and the lack of control of random violence due to lack of strong willed boots on the streets of the city. He felt he had to further his position as the WarDrac of RhyDin, protector of the people.

Agitation came at the incompetence of various title-holders of the dueling venues not maintaining their responsibilities of helping to protect the citizens of the central realm of the continent. So many of those that rose to power had claimed the titles for their own gains either ignoring the districts they had domain over or exploiting it to further ruin to aid whatever selfish glory. Over the next couple hours of his patrol flight that day the WarDrac began to formulate a plan of what he could do to bring better order in law enforcement of the streets to help protect the common people better. He thought of those who could help him and he frankly began to lose faith in his fellow duelers currently among the various venues as being trustworthy to not succumb to personal wants over the needs of the city.

Gathering allies to him and his cause among those he knew that where still about RhyDin could prove to be difficult he considered. After much trepidation at the thought of announcing off world his current location he felt he had no choice but to seek outside assistance. When Baphelocutis returned to his lair late in the afternoon he crafted several parchments of summons to those allies he still had off RhyDin to come to his aid. Having secured the parchments to various dragonets that dwelled in the wild conservancy of his region the WarDrac sent them through portals he conjured up for each to reach their destination quickly. Once the recipients unfurled the parchments sealed in the wax stamp with the magical sigil of the WarDrac they read the following message.

“The WarDrac, Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia, requires your long term presence to return to the world of RhyDin. The WarDrac is making this request a requirement in fulfilling past agreements, treaties, and alliances made personally with him, and not those previously made separately with House Lathadoscia. Appreciation by the WarDrac is expressed in advance in fulfilling this summons while also appreciation in advance for not contacting any member of House Lathadoscia or any citizen of the Dracoern Empire informing them the WarDrac has summoned you to RhyDin. The summons shall be executed immediately with all haste in relocation of yourself, those whom you lead, and all resources to the world of RhyDin for long-term residence. Please upon arrival to the world of RhyDin proceed to the region formally known as Mount Bane to gather before the WarDrac.”

The Dragon Priest receives the summons

Post by Jo Kicklen Elbynknyght »

The WarDrac Baphelocutis developed his power on the planet Dracoern that continues to be the headquarters of the powerful drow-elf House Lathadoscia and their great empire. As the platinum draconian gained prestige with his adventuring companion Marilanna Lathadoscia across the multiverse he accumulated great wealth with prowess as a formidable warrior to eventually become the champion and Padishah Emperor of the House and the empire. While adventuring as a fighter, a mage, and a cleric-monk, Baphelocutis found a deity as his religious patron, Ixiom. This deity, Ixiom, had often tested the resolve, the will, the discipline, and the prowess of the WarDrac until eventually he ascended to be a Planetar ranked servant of his god.

Across the Dracoern Empire of House Lathadoscia, Baphelocutis had erected many temples in the name of Ixiom. The WarDrac with the blessing of his deity taught many the similar skills and abilities he had used to adventure to fame with. These warriors excelled in martial arts while extenuating their melee combat abilities with battle magic with being competent with divine resistances to the undead. These special elite warriors have become their own powerful faction within the armies of House Lathadoscia, the dragon-monks of the Dragon Temple of Ixiom.

After Jo Kicklen Elbynknyght finished his tenure as the Keeper of Mount Bane on RhyDin the WarDrac offered him a position of great trust. “Kicklen” as he been more commonly referred to among the denizens of RhyDin had been an early initiate of the Dragon Temple of Ixiom and over the years rose to be one of it’s most promising adept-disciples. This achievement had earned him the respect and trust of the WarDrac to handle being the Keeper of Mount Bane at Mydknyght’s request during his sabbatical from the world of RhyDin. During this tenure on RhyDin in control of the LyfeStone of RhyDin and governing the sinister territory of the realm of Mount Bane, Kicklen learned much of the dark arts as well. The LyfeStone required a balance of both the light and dark magic of the known worlds to maintain its function to the world of RhyDin. Shah-Seneschal was the highest rank within the Dragon Temple of Ixiom under the direct command of Baphelocutis.

When Shah-Seneschal Elbynknyght received the summons to RhyDin by his master, the WarDrac, it signaled the moment of time to execute Operation: Egg Hatch.

The Githzerai Bladesinger receives the summons

Post by Joranthiel Parqsaack »

Across the multiverse there are a few nexus focal points where civilizations and planes of existence intersect like RhyDin. One such nexus, the city of Sigil, tends to bring denizens of the Outer Planes together more so than the Prime Material nexus of RhyDin does. It was through this city of Sigil that the paths of Baphelocutis and the Githzerai warrior Joranthiel Parqsaack crossed once long ago. It was through a set of important missions together for both of them that they began to appreciate what each could do in assisting the other in various tasks. The WarDrac even helped to privately finance Joranthiel’s clan rise to power within the ranks of the Shra’kt’lor Githzerai tribes on the plane of Limbo.

One of the reasons the WarDrac found “Joran” appealing as one of his first allies outside House Lathadoscia was Joran’s conscious of being able to think outside of racial concerns and motivations. Before Baphelocutis and Joran had adventured together, Joran spent some time on the prime material plane furthering his natural tendency of using the combine fighter and mage techniques of combat. The time Joran spent among elves learning the arts of the Bladesinger not only gave him an advantage to teach his tribe over other Githzerai clans but the elven sense of wisdom of other races and their activities. After their time adventuring together Joran became a member of the WarDrac’s temple in faith to Ixiom. The dragon-monks taught the Githzerai their arts while the Githzerai returned the exchange of knowledge with outer planer techniques of combat and travel.

Joran often visited the Dragon Temple of Ixiom he helped to maintain in the city of Sigil and it was there that he had received the summons from the WarDrac. Githzerai often cared nothing at all for matters on the prime material plane of existence except to maintain outposts in regions where their enemies, the githyanki, could sow the seeds of chaos and disorder to aid them. From what he heard of the situation in the nexus of RhyDin that place was ripe for the champions of chaos and evil to cultivate aid and resources to their unpleasant causes. This summons came at an auspicious time for Joran as it would help his current difficulties that could be deflected to furthering all Githzerai causes and placate some of his rivals within his own race who thought the Parqsaack tribes were becoming to powerful.

When il'Khan Joranthiel of the Parqsaack Githzerai tribes received the summons to RhyDin by his ally, the WarDrac, it signaled the moment of time to execute his clan’s ascension to establish it’s own autonomous fortress away from Shra’kt’lor.
