Duelers of Swords,
I am Damien's only Loyal baron currently, and I chose to because again he is apart of an association that had always stood by me and done me well. Proven loyalty favors with the platinum draconian a long way.
If Damien remains Overlord and choses to Test any challenge Rakeesh presses, a good chance I might be the guy. Whether I am the guy or not, I ask that no one stand in to help Rakeesh if he presses challenge to Damien for Overlord. He is not worthy of such aid after betraying one he aided in such fashion. To aid Rakeesh in a challenge for Overlord would only lend creedence to his dishonor to the sport.
It is simply a request. And by the way, that is 8,000 nobles from me and Damien to the guy who takes him out of his current title.

A point I wish to address with Baphe's announcement.
While I am in agreement with him, I feel the need to inform him that despite all efforts, there will likely be someone who will champion for Rakeesh. Keep in mind that loyalty is still admirable, and that the person who defends him may be doing so strictly out of friendship. Of course, if they do it just to be an annoyance, then by all means, condemn away.
Thank you,
G.

Nae exactly, Barkeep...G wrote:On the other side, if Cas bested Skyler and Damien, Karen would have been in a position to award Cassius the Barony of Damien, as well.
So, in effect, you interfered in that, as well.

Th' plan were tae allow Maximius th' opportunity tae defeat Damien an' then issue Challenge tae him, as th' Rules allow.
As fer Damien 'imself... I 'ave little against th' man. Rude, tae be sure... but there be nae crime in thet. I am nae fond o' his friends... but I am nae one tae condemn a man based upon th' actions o' their friends.

That's 9,500 RhyDin nobles duelers to get rid of the Liontaur between the Overlord's bounty and and the WarDrac Baron's!

As soon I can muster the credentials, I will be issuing challenge to Rakeesh for my former barony. Not so much because I want the barony back, but because of that 9500 noble bounty. It is my desire to have more silver nobles than any other citizen. I rather like going home at night and swimming around in the piles of money all over my house. Why, just the other night, I had a hooker over and we had all sorts of fun. We lay on the bed and I amused myself by bouncing silver nobles off her butt for several hours.

That is, in effect, the rule I was speaking of. Forgive the error of presentation.Karen Wilder wrote:Nae exactly, Barkeep...G wrote:On the other side, if Cas bested Skyler and Damien, Karen would have been in a position to award Cassius the Barony of Damien, as well.

These things amuse me.
For those who forget, Damien once declared loyalty to Taylara and called her a wench, trying to get her to banish him to Renegade so he'd get an immediate shot at her. It's quite ironic, years later, he has a Baron stand in his defense only to have that Baron want to take the title from him. Fitting.
It's also amusing that for a community who hates Barons who sit on their rings, that a Baron who does something with the ring he holds is held into contempt. How about we just say all Barons are unworthy and get it over with?
As for Rakeesh's actions, he must live with his decision. He decided to pick whom he thinks is the lesser of the two evils, but I would have stood by the principle of the matter and not stood in defense of a man I do not believe is worthy of Overlord. There are plenty enough people that don't like Skyler or Damien enough to let them sit unchallenged for long.
That is on Rakeesh's heart, though. I'd like to think this was merely a decision by an anxious new baron wanting to make a difference... Lord knows many of us (including myself) get full of piss and vinegar when we finally bring ourselves up to the level of Baron status.
And the proposition of bringing this matter to the Baron's Council is laughable.
