Racism and Revenge

The whip of vile tongues lashed out with their terrible words. Inkie they called her... a nasty sewer rat. The chorus of heckling continued in the drow's mind as her form slipped beneath the comfort of a warm bath. Clothed in the finest silks, fed with the best cuisine, and covered in fragrances so refined that most of the common crowd would faint if they knew the cost of a single ingredient with the mixture, and yet, they called the drowess a sewer rat.

The victory in this week's match against Tareth had given the drowess a rush of confidence and pride. The wave of hatred directed at the female immediately after this victory had shaken the ground she walked on. The drowess was not sure if this was the reason for her being benched in the third week, or if her teammates felt the same way towards her origins. Either way, this city she was just starting to embrace appeared to be rejecting her whole-heartedly.

There had been no sign of her secret love in nearly a month and the only pleasure the drowess could currently find was in playing games with the Egyptian and fighting in the league with her team.

It's not like any of you are picking up the slack. I've won two weeks in a row. I even beat someone you all thought I'd lose to.... and then, you benched me....

Ripples spread across the top of the water as the drowess dropped a few more bath beads of scented oils into the mix. The comforting words of Artemus came to mind as she tried to massage her neck with the hot water and ease away her worries. He seemed to think she was misunderstood. The drowess could understand his distance most of the time. After all, not only was he mated, but she wasn't held among the best company to be keeping.

Such a shame all the decent ones are taken. If it weren't for Anubis drooling over me all the time I'd start to think I was unattractive.

This notion made her giggle in a girlish manner. Deep down Vasvrae hated the Egyptian, but she couldn't help but respect his obssession with catching her. It was a twisted and perverse game and those were her favorite games to play. The drowess closed her eyes and attempted not to think about the insult of being benched. It was time to plot a little bit of revenge against that obnoxious woman who taunted her so..
