The mounting concern the drowess had for the hunters of the Egyptian being able to track down their target was ebbing. The cold, stone dwellings and underground havens which had been serving as temporary housing were now in the process of being left behind as a better base was established. A local inn had a suite suitable enough to her liking.
The nights were still dreadfully cold. The severe temperature never had seemed to affect the drowess, but the dreariness of winter was giving way to the brightness of spring. The days were getting longer and the colors more vivid with each passing cycle. On one hand the drowess found herself infatuated with the beauty of the life blossoming around her. On the other hand this change seemed to create a certain instinct for seclusion. It was becoming rare to leave the confines of her suite every day. Homesickness had raked her arrogant mind with the most overwhelming sense of despair and for some reason only one vision burned in her mind. It was his eyes...
Two days after securing the suite the drowess ordered up silk curtains of a sky blue pastel and bed dressings to match. The House cloak she wore was sent off and returned after cleaning with the new addition of a clasp made of white gold twisted into the shape of a black widow spider. Tea carts cluttered with scented oils and incense were sent up to the suite on day three and by the fourth day of living in these new quarters the only thing the drowess found herself missing was the open halls of her Underdark dwelling and the company she kept.
This morning was met with the soft moaning of delight as the drowess slipped into a clawfoot bathtub filled to the brim with piping hot water mixed with salts from all different areas of the country. Candles were burning brightly on the shelves facing the opposing wall and only the strange choker of thick, blue silk remained to remind her of any troubles in the world. Still, as the young drowess lay there soaking her cares away in the pool of warm smells and tangible comfort all she could think about was the sound of his voice and the look in his eyes. What a twisted mistress fate could be...

Three timid raps rang against the thick, oak door at the front entrance to the suite. Hissing tones, raspy by nature, could be heard loudly shooting across the inner room. The somewhat shaky reply of a serving girl standing in the hallway forced the reluctant drowess to her feet. The door was unlocked in the young female let inside to do her work. Most of the maids at the inn wasted no time in finishing their duties when it pertained to the suite the drowess occupied.
The set of ice blue, gray eyes were watching the serving girl with unrelenting scrutiny. The trembling young woman was going as fast as she could without a single word being uttered. Even though she did not fear the drowess lashing out at her physically... the looks the dark elf gave were enough to get the job done. In less than three minutes the morning meal was laid out on the metalwork dining table and the bed sheets changed and collected for washing. The young female bowed deeply to the drowess.
"Will there be anything else, ma'am?"
An uncomfortable silence struck in the formal of an unusually long pause.
"No.. that will be all."
As quickly as was humanly possible the serving girl bowed once more to the dark elf woman and excused herself. The drowess wasted no time in following behind her to lock the door.
With the maid gone the drowess let out a rather listless sigh. Slow and steady pacing led her up to the metalwork table. A hand of blue-black flesh reached forward to pull out a chair while the drowess placed herself into perfect posture on the front of the seat. Both hands went to work laying out the correct utensils and spreading a linen napkin across her lap. The view from the fifth floor suite showed the seaside in the distance. Little pieces of meat were cut into managible bites and devoured happily.
As strange birds of bright colors and winged creatures of fantastical origins flew by the window in stunning array the drowess could only think of her sadness at not having seen nor heard news of the owner of the mysterious eyes she so often saw in her mind. The seasons were changing and a more primal urge arising. Prayers to Lloth were becoming more frequent now and the need to have contact with her Underdark home seemed to be a primary concern. So, now she had a decision to make... go back home to comfort and familiarity or stay here and pursue the unknown and the mystery that lurked behind those eyes...
