Would you give the Grant to an enemy or a rival? Would you give away potential power to someone who may benefit from that potential power in their goal of taking more power from you? This is king of the hill with an offensive line blocking for you if you are smart. The cool thing about the Grant is it can be given to anyone regardless of rank so it keeps people guessing and gives everyone in this sport a chance to make a name for themselves. Plus if you already have some Warlord buddies who can challenge it is another potential rival title that can be potentially taken out when you run out of Warlord buddies.

Would you want to be Anubis and try to go home to bed if he didn't give his first Grant to Dawn?

Some of the best Overlords of this sport's history who reigned long and defended many times knew how to manipulate the Baron's Council somehow to their favor by having allies on it and making sure they stayed on.

Anubis gave the Overlord Grant of his first reign to me. I cannot speak for Dawn's opinion of this.

Anubis did this with me. He wanted to meet me in the supreme event that is an Overlord Challenge. His decisive victory proved he was not foolish in doing so.
