A few years back... (20 Feb, 2011)

In the early morning hours before dawn, a blue-cloaked figure stood in the Marketplace, facing a recently-renovated storefront. Well, he mused silently, the day has arrived. It's funny, out of all the things I've faced in my time, I'm most nervous about... customers. With a wry grin, he walked over to the door, unlocked it, and stepped inside.

As the sun rose over RhyDin, its rays fell upon the sign hanging above the door: Shining Star Glassworks, with the stained-glass image of an eight-pointed star set against a dark blue field beneath the name. A smaller nameplate to one side of the door read, "Ciarth Whitemane, proprietor" in neatly-engraved script. A large bay window revealed some of the wares available within, where Ciarth himself moved among the display shelves as his shop assistant, Nelian, prepared the till. The morning sunlight, slanting into the shop from outside, was caught by the ornamental glass birds hanging in the window, setting them to sparkle.

Hearing the sound of the jingling bell as the door opened, Ciarth looked at Nelian, winked, and then turned and greeted their first customers. "Good morning, gentles, and welcome!"
