Baby's First ...

Sometimes, the dance called life is graceful. Sometimes, you step on a toe or fall flat on your face.

Baby's First ...

Post by Mairead Harker »

Maggie set pen to paper in her journal.

Last weekend was my first Warlord Tournament. Most kids have things like 'baby's first steps in their memory books. Mine is filled with things that amount to baby's first 'insert name of sports event here', but that's ok because it's part of who I am. We have a case in the family room for our trophies, medals, and ribbons. Everyone in the family has stuff in there. Grandma Harker and Aunt Tillie have a lot of stories to tell about Da and Uncle Bertie's stuff they did at school and at uni. Uni, that's what British people call a university. I think that should be 'an' university, but sounds funny to say it that way.

Anyway, I did a pretty good job of it. I didn't win, but it took 24 rounds to end the duel with that person who always screeches or bellows about Deathlord. She always calls living people 'sac.' I know what she means, but still sounds creepy. She kept saying she wanted to unlife me. I told I'd send her to Uncle Hades before that would happen. Maybe I will do the Madness thing next year. I haven't in some time.

This year for Christmas Eve, I'm going to wear my elf costume to visit the kids over at Riverview. Rick is going to the Dockside pediatric unit and Catie decided to visit the kids at the orphanage. When we get done with that, we'll go to Gran's for Christmas Eve dinner.
