New Haven Squire Announcement

At some point, somebody posted a sheet of white stationery graced with yellow stars scattered around the margins, with Bailey Raptis' name and his twin titles of 69th Archmage and Baron of New Haven at the top. The handwriting, a bit rushed but mostly neat, laid out a message that, while clearly addressed to a single individual, was also meant to serve as an announcement for the dueling community at large.

Some time ago, I believe we discussed the Baronies that we wished to challenge for, and although it took me some time to get to the Barony that my heart desired, I have now succeeded in my goal of being the Baron of New Haven, just as you were successful in becoming the Baroness of Seaside. As a way of thanking you for your support, including but not limited to serving as my Second while challenging for the Barony of Dragon's Gate, I would like to formally offer you the position of Squire of New Haven, and the squire's weapon that this position entails. It is a rapier named Amund that possesses a sort of sentience, and I have previously held it on two occasions, serving as the squire under Andrea Anderson and our current Overlord, Hope Naharis. I know that you do not need further assistance -- the fact that you became a Baroness before I did should serve as clear proof of that -- but I want to provide assistance to you, though I would fully understand if you chose to decline my offer.

Either way, thank you again for being a friend to me, in a place where good friends are often difficult to find.
