The May Day Music Fest is taking over a large open field in the Wilds. Enjoy the festival every day for three days beginning approximately at 11am when people shake off their hangovers from the night before, the food trucks roll in and re-open, and the music starts again and doesn’t stop until late into the night.

The field borders a lake and at least one enterprising person has set up a small boat rental business for the duration of the festival on the water while several musical acts plan to set off fireworks over the water in the evening. The food trucks are set up along the west stretch of the lake with picnic tables scattered nearby and disappearing into the shade of the trees that border all sides of the fields. A beer tent has also been set up nearby with a makeshift bar selling RhyDin’s favorite beer, ale, and cider.

Along the north side of the lake, past the food trucks and along a river that feeds the lake, a stretch of woods is being used for a campground for the duration of the festival.

Throughout the field there are numerous small stages/stations for lesser known acts and solo musicians. Butting up against the lake is the single, large headliner stage. On either side of the field, halfway between the entrance and the headliner stage, are two slightly smaller stages for bigger acts.

Admission is free but many performers are selling swag and branded items at small booths set up near the food trucks.

---
The following lists of food trucks and musical acts are in no way set in stone or exhaustive. Please feel free to add whatever you would like into your play!

Monday, April 29th

Sapphire was all about that music fest life. She wasn’t quite up for camping out for the three days (mostly because her camping friends were back in her other home) but she was present at the festival from morning to night each day she possibly could be. Hardly a loner, she was happy to team up for a few sets with a friendly face and could be found at the beer tent or need the food truck picnic tables in-between sets, socializing.

On Monday, she caught a bit of Punch Face Champions’ set before she went on stage herself to sing a few ballads. She dropped her gear off before hitting up a few other sets. She enjoyed Tel’ Palurin Nalla Agar but when the set ended in trouble and someone tried to punch her in the face, she skipped out, had a drink, and then went to watch the Beat-Elves (though the latter group had weird haircuts). Her favorite on Monday was the Jewell Ravenlock Experience. She could not stop laughing and recorded several videos on her phone to send to Jewell.

She grabbed some taquitos from JT’s Taco Stand and french fries from Precious Taters. Later in the day, she totally hit up Boozies for a Cookies, Cream, and Kahlua milkshake.

Desdenova loved music, and loved performing music. Though he only could sing up a wisp or two, he was still a skilled and melodic performer, sometimes singing along in a clear, sweet tenor. After his performance, he could be seen hanging around, mostly at the acoustic and classical sets, though he also could be found headbanging here and there.

None of the food trucks were safe from him, including the lima beans. He's a growing boy (in theory)!

Bailey showed up later in the day and stuck close to the Boozies food truck until the DJ tent opened up, with occasional trips to the taco truck to keep from getting too intoxicated too early. Finally, though, he spent the rest of the night moving to the tunes spun by Valère Sauvage. At some point, even with the temperature dropping, Bailey sent the denim duster to his Hollow in the Hedge, as he danced up a healthy sweat.

Jewell and Sapphire were present on Tuesday for the Music Fest. Jewell chilled off-stage while Sapphire performed early in the day. They went to the Timewarp set (Jewell’s request) and got halfway through the Gottes Verschrottung set before deciding to hit the beer tent while their hearing was still intact.

They grabbed some food from Falafel My Waffle and the Street Meat food trucks before catching the second half of the Mystik Spiral set. Sapphire thought the lead singer Trent was super dreamy.

After that, Sapphire peaced out, saying she needed to help Mallory with something. Jewell stuck around by herself (not that the Empress ever need be alone if she didn’t want to be), listening to part of The Oneders’ set before heading over to the DJ tent to dance, say hi to Bran when he revealed himself, and make eyes at Ancelin. She slipped him a note promising to catch his set the next day before heading out. Sapphire had made her promise to be home in the evening.

Again, Bailey kept away from the music stage in favor of the DJ tent, although today he limited himself to a single boozy milkshake. Tonight, there were two DJ sets he had to make it through, so he couldn't afford inebriation like he'd experienced when the Fires of Beltane had been lit. He munched on some of JT's shredded pork taquitos to fuel him through the night. DJ goyang-i saekki and DJ Lizardman's music got Bailey's hips shaking, although he did pause and gulp for a second when Bran Bale revealed himself -- and stared at the Triple Crown title holder's tail a beat or two longer than might have been comfortable for anyone around.

A hush fell over the crowd as DJ Goyang-i Saekki finished their set, then suddenly from the far left of the stage, two attendants could be seen hustling a figure towards the turntable. They had draped a cape around his shoulders (although a blue scaly tail could be seen dragging in the back), and the figure was wearing a large football helmet over his head (and once again, a blue scaly maw protruded from the front). Once the figure made it to the turntable, the attendants pulled away the cape, and it raised its scaly claws.

"What'sss up, RhyDin! Put your clawsss in the air . . . it'sss DJ LIZARDMAN!" The figure exclaimed, causing the crowd to erupt in cheers.

"Thisss firssst one isss goin' out to all my homiesss in the ssswampsss . . . Everybody on the dance floor!!!!"

His set opened with Aerosmith's "Lizard Love", followed closely by ZZ Top's "Lizard Life". Some of the more curious dancers squinted and peered at DJ Lizardman. " . . . he looks familiar . . . "

"Ain't no party like a RhyDin par-taaayyyy! Get down! Break your neckssss! Are you ready for thisss?" DJ Lizardman cried, before spinning the Dead Milkmen's "Big Lizard" and "Reptilia" by The Strokes.

A rather inebriated dancer had made their way onto the stage and snuck up behind DJ Lizardman. He unceremoniously yanked the helmet off of his scaly head, revealing Bran Bale, Living Lizard Legend and Triple Crown Winner. Bran's yellow eyes went wide with shock.

"IT'S BRAN BALEEEE!" The crowd exclaimed, pointing fingers, cellphone cameras exploding.

Quickly grabbing the helmet from the dancer, Bran jammed it back over his head and went running off stage with his scaly tail between his legs as the crowd continued to cheer and dance.

Wednesday, May 1

Bailey actually showed up for many of the afternoon music sets, typically lurking somewhere towards the back of the crowds. He made sure to catch Badass Ballads and The Empress' sets, although he seemed extra cautious and shy about being seen at those two shows. He also dug Josie and the Pussy-Cat-sìths, but left after about five minutes or so of Fifty Shades of Fae (his ear drums could only take so much screaming from middle-aged women, and he had a long night of music ahead of him). He was pleasantly surprised to see goyang-i saekki return for another set after the previous day's session in the DJ tent, enough that he stuck around unexpectedly for TRASH's afternoon headlining set. It wasn't the sort of music Bailey typically listened to in his spare time, but he found himself bopping along anyway at their fierce energy.

Of course, he *had* to catch Intergalactic Grammy winner DJ TesR@q's set. Safely ensconced in his club kid world, he spotted a few friends from the Callow, and discretely slipped them something special he'd picked up from an old modeling friend, though he himself did not partake. The thinning of the Veil, a day of good music, and the hedonistic pleasures the dancers took in was drug enough for him. He soaked in the glamour until it overflowed, the tipping point coming when Blue Phire poured even more of the enchantment into the tent. By the end of the night, he was sweaty, and anyone with any sort of eye for piercing masks could see his true mien: pale, almost more statue than flesh and blood. The color slowly drained out of his eyes, until they were black with just a few flecks of red remaining.

Ever elegant and pristine music sang from the old Washburn guitar, opening a set of lambent classical before the joint got a-jumping. She left behind hundreds of weaving and dancing motes of light, playing gleefully in the sound waves and buoyed on the joyous emotions.

Pharlen would drift here and there to watch the other acts, enjoying a cocktail or two. One could catch her scent as she wandered along...
