The Great Stag is king of the forest
The horns on his head proclaim his majesty
He is fast, faster than all others
He is both powerful and agile
The Great Stag can defeat any opponent

Setting
Deep in the RhyDin Wilds, travelers will find the Mud Baths. It is a series of bubbling mud volcanoes spewing warm, ooey gooey mud throughout a shallow valley. Some visit for the medicinal and beauty benefits of soaking in the mud, but on April 28th, competitors will jump in feet-first to fight a brawl in the foot-sucking, unsteady ground to see who will earn the Panther’s Claw and be crowned The Great Stag!

An enterprising part-troll entrepreneur has set up a small business overlooking the mud volcanoes for those who like to visit for the medicinal benefits and the Duel of Fists staff has paid to use the space for the evening. There is a crude little snack shack selling typical concession food with a healthy twist (ex: vegan nachos on quinoa “corn” chips and cauliflower/broccoli dogs) as well as homemade kombucha and green smoothies. Fortunately, Jewell convinced them to also sell delicious mudslides the evening of the tournament in honor of the setting (though she failed to realize that it was coconut milk ice cream used in the drinks).

There is a crude deck/platform for both the caller and brawl observers built out over the volcanoes and a set of rickety stairs leading down into the mud. There’s also a small changing room and spring-fed shower built onto the side of the concession stand for those who get eliminated.

At the start of the tournament, the mud is running a bit low. Unfortunately for the fighters, as the tournament goes on, the volcanoes keep rumbling and spitting up more mud, making it more difficult to fight with each passing minute*.

*See below under The Rules for how the mud volcanoes play into the rules and scoring for the evening

The Rules
The Great Stag Tournament will be a Muddy Megarawl for everyone under the rank of Emerald. It is also going to serve as the Panther’s Claw tournament for the Spring 2019 Cycle!

Please click this link for the general megabrawl rules. Any specific changes made to the rules will be announced publicly before the event.

The order for the Megabrawl will be determined by registration order: You sign up first, you get to go first in the first round of the Megabrawl.

We are also limiting registration to EIGHT people. The first EIGHT people to sign up are in the tournament. Didn’t make the cut? Put your name down anyway and show up on tournament night and fill any spots from no-shows!

SPECIAL RULES FOR THE EVENING: Due to the bubbling mud volcanoes on the playing field, in rounds 6, 11, and 15 everyone still standing will lose 1 stamina point of their 10 total. Eek! Better knock out the competition quick.

The Prizes
Last person standing…
The last person standing gets their choice of one of two prizes:
1) The Panther’s Claw
2) Challenge Grant for Opal Holder of Choice*

*The challenge grant is for a one-time challenge against the Opal holder of choice. Challenge must be issued within 14 days of the tournament. The person using the challenge grant must be active on the DoF standings at the time they issue their challenge. The challenge must follow the normal rules of DoF opal challenges.

They will also be crowned as THE GREAT STAG!

Second to last person standing…
The prize that the first place person didn’t pick, a cup of dirt, and free vegan nachos from the concession stand.

Everyone who participates…
A mud pie and a ticket for a free kale/chard smoothie from the concession stand!
