The East Tower is home to House Shadowcast. It spans the upper four floors of the tower and is known affectionately amongst its occupants as The Omega Point, a nod to the hand painted emblem gracing one wall of the common area that reads ‘Everything that rises must converge’. The first floor of Shadowcast House consists of a sprawling circular common room decorated in rich shades of navy and accented in gold. Arched windows alternate with stained glass depicting reimaginations of the creation of Twilight Isle by the Wizard Klytus. Plush couches in deep jewel tones dot the room without crowding it, lending plenty of room for relaxation and study alike. A portrait of the house’s namesake, Vanion Shadowcast hangs on the wall opposite the entrance, greeting those that enter its sacred space.
Otherwise, the walls are hung with lush silks to accent the painted ceiling, which appears domed despite the additional floors above it. The painting shifts with the time of day, offering students a taste of a proper passing day even though the Isle itself is drenched in perpetual twilight. The second floor of Shadowcast House contains a library and dining area with an accompanying kitchen. Quiet hours are loosely enforced in the library in the hours after lunch but before dinner. The remaining two floors of the East Tower are home to the dormitories, split by age and gender and completed by bathrooms consisting of ornate soaking pools, private showers, and toasty steam rooms. Charms placed upon the dormitories insure that students access only their assigned areas and do not infringe on the privacy of others.
