A modern touch greets students of House Gallows. Set in the far north of Cosmos Keep, the double door entrance is set into a marble archway. Within, sleek lines and heavy accents of black, red, orange, and white create a contemporary common space, in the center of which is an impressive circular fireplace seemingly fueled by the flames of the Tower of Fire itself. Beneath a portrait of namesake Claire Gallows, students can find a seat by the fire 360 degrees around it, either on comfortable couches or overstuffed floor pillows. A corner kitchen provides plenty of snacks for students thanks to a wily fire spirit that lives within. Of course that sometimes leads to burnt snacks, but most don’t seem to mind.
While the ceiling is not open like House Ollavan, House Gallows boasts a similar layout, sprawling outwards instead of upwards. A floor to ceiling, wall to wall picture window along the northmost wall gives students a view of varying scenes beyond, keeping them apprised of current events on the Isle and in the city, though most usually use the magical window to watch the sports of Rhydin without having to leave the comfort of their fireside seats. High above the commons perch a pair of phoenixes that watch over the students below. Majestic creatures named Pax and Bellum, they are not to be touched though it’s said if one chooses to land upon a student that it is a good luck sign of things to come. Those that try to force such contact however often find much the opposite occurs. As with all other houses, sleeping quarters are split by age and gender, private only to those who occupy them.
