Ty is a reluctant product of Raleigh Granger's famed line and while he's spurned the family business, he can't escape the brown hair that curls when he goes too long between haircuts and the light blue eyes that are sensitive to light due to their color. The tall, athletic build, though, he took willingly as it assisted in his sole passion -- dueling.

While his parents and older brothers remain dedicated to the family business toiling away on their farm, Ty had become the family disappointment. He flunked out of high school and showed no interest in raising sheep or growing cotton. At 18, he'd left RhyDin to join a minor league traveling dueling team as swinging a sword seemed just about the only thing he did well. Now, three years later, he's finally lined up a sponsor in Turner Sports Goods and is back to take his shot at the dueling mecca -- RhyDin's Duel of Swords.
