You read it right.

Cupid.

No, he's not the cute, cherubic little sprite wandering around mostly unclothed that can be seen in statues and greeting cards and cartoons. Nor does he carry a bow and heart-tipped arrows (though he is a damned good shot with one).

He's an angel, yes, but you will probably never see his wings, their color the red of blood, the scarlet of the heart of passion, love and desire.

In fact, to the denizen of the everyday, he looks like anyone else.

And if he does his job right, you'll never know he was there, even as your life is filled with a treasure beyond compare.

His job is simple - find your match.

No, not make you fall in love. There's no force in the world powerful enough to accomplish that. All he really does is give you a nudge in the right direction.

Of course, it takes a very special kind of heart to play the world's matchmaker, to help and watch so many fall in love, find their happily ever after.

But it makes one wonder if such a life can truly be so fulfilling without having it for yourself.

Two things everyone needs to know:

1) Yeah, he's Cupid. Which means he is all about love and peace and all those things. But one should keep in mind that just because he IS Cupid, he is not in any way weak or unable to fight.

2) When he is visible as a human, Cooper WILL register to all but the most powerful of beings (translation: gods) as nothing more or less than human, as he masks his true nature when he is seen in public. IF YOU CANNOT RESPECT THIS, YOU WILL BE IGNORED WITHOUT MERCY.
