Their town car pulled up before the manor and came to a stop. A fountain was lit up in the grassy center of the circular roundabout. The heavy double doors were thrown open invitingly and a footman stood waiting. Ivy crept up over the three story building causing its Norman architecture to appear warmer than it should.

In addition to the handful of knights already in attendance as guests, it seemed the Baron (or Luca) had insisted that the Baroness and her friend would be accompanied by a trio of on-duty knights. One of them gave the valet a stern and chasing look and assisted the ladies from the car himself.

Sophie's slid in between Harper's arm and her body to start leading towards the door so she could whisper in the woman's ear. "You are going to stun them tonight and do you want to know why?"

"Because of my sheer gall?" she whispered back with a tight smile and a tiny shake of her head that set the only adornment she wanted in addition to the dress - a pair of ruby drops - quivering from her earlobes.

She tipped a look to Annie-Love in the warm glow of the lights flanking the double doors, giving her arm a warm squeeze before releasing it. "Exactly. Don't let it fail you. Some days mine is the only thing that keeps me alive."
