Xinyi wasn't born a demon. She was born a house cat. A perfectly ordinary black house cat with green eyes. Ordinary apart from having an exceptionally long tail. She had lived a long and contented life (for a cat) of thirteen years when one evening she was left alone in the home and greedily licked up a great quantity of lamp oil. In the mysterious ways that such things happen this one act of misbehavior turned her into a nekomata. The people of the neighborhood soon became suspicious when more lamp oil was observed to go missing, and the cat was spotted dancing and wearing a trivet for a hat. Such things were taken as ill omens, and her masters and the people of the neighborhood tried to terminate her before she could bring about a great catastrophe.

At length, she was driven into the wilderness alone, and after some time joined a travelling carnival that she met on a deserted highway far in the wilderness. A dark carnival that never stayed in one place, consisting of all kinds of outcast demons and other supernatural castaways and discards. There she learned how to blend with humans, and every conceivable hustle and shuck to separate the marks from their money. Unfortunately all that learning wasn't free - and she was abused and exploited by the demonic Ringmaster. After many years, the young fortune teller stole a great deal of money from the Ringmaster and escaped, finding anonimity and refuge in Rhydin City.

Skills:

Fortune telling, dancing, knife throwing, sword swallowing, death-defying, amazing and astonishing. She is an accomplished orator, and has a better than fair singing voice.

She is athletic and capable of combat, with blades and particularly with thrown weapons of any kind.
