Appearance:

The creature appears as a great serpent with a mighty crown of antlers akin to an elk's. His body is as thick as an old tree, longer than the depth of the darkest lake and clad in scales that can turn any arrow or spear. Their color often matches the beast's environs, until it is ready to make itself known. Then they range through black and brown earth tones and a pattern of large spots run his length. His fangs are the length of a tall hunter and drip deadly venom. Centered on the beast's head, just above and between the eyes is a brilliant stone. It can shine brilliantly with it's own light, dazzling white and bloody red it gleams.

Skills:

Uktena can blend in with a natural camouflage. It by no means makes him invisible, simply easier to overlook as his scales change in hue. They do tend to stay a shade or three darker than a perfect color match.
He is able to move faster than a horse in the open, but his true speed is in his strike. When bringing his fangs or antlers to battle he can hit with a speed that makes a rattlesnake seem a sluggish worm.
He has the strength to smash a boulder with a crack of his tail and nothing has ever survived being crushed in his coils.
The Ulun'Suti, the stone set in his brow, can do more than just emit a bright light. It can truly dazzle, sapping the will from victims that stare at it with an open eye until they rush headlong towards doom in a blind effort to reach the stone. The stone and Uktena's antlers are unable to be broken, even by the strike of a Thunderbird.
Uktena is capable of human speech and is said to employ it to whisper from the dark places. He has a special hatred for humans, often tormenting them before ending their lives.
