Appearance:

Simple and plain, too short with a body washed in shame. Faint flickers of light could be seen in her smile if it reached her eyes, but the shadows and memories of pain obscured most of it out. A shell of a woman, living in what seemed to be a foreign body, regularly unrecognizable when she spied it in a mirror.

It would take time to grow used to it, take time to discover what she had shifted into. But having mortality makes that an issue, as while she had time, the real question was : how much of it?
