He’d been picked once, primed and ready to take a fall before fate twisted at the last second. It both darkened his soul and fueled his fingers for his trade while adding an additional sad note to the tone of his voice. Dark hair was kept longer to fall and obscure more of his face, a conflicting thing when his skill was to pull attention his way while he wanted to linger in muted and fading half lights. Tall with lanky long limbs and lengthy pencil thin fingers, they spun over chords in the same natural grace that a spider weaved silk threads; it was all he was meant to do.

But not all that he could do.

His heart wasn’t worn on his sleeve, but tossed about from the tips of his fingers, picked and plucked with the strings of a guitar and left to fall down to his weathered boots. Crooning about heart break and heart ache, the wrongs that scared his memories and hardships that left brief bruises against his skin. Dressed in muted dark colors, frayed and ragged fabrics, it was his intention to blend in even though there was an unnatural quality to him that nearly forced charisma to slip into the air around him.

Not a gentle soul, but a broken one. He could still smile when he saw a cause to, be it for prey or for amusement.
