Appearance:

Aware of the law of the land, Kate favors clothes serviceable, not fashionable. Form fitting pants, black cargo style, are tucked into boots that might have once been black but are now painted in the color of rust due to a large amount of time spent walking in the dust, dirt and sand. Her upper body is covered by a dark brown shirt, long sleeved and close to her skin. Atop that the vest, atop that, the assault pack. A black and brown scarf is folded around her neck, she made it quite some time ago. Prone to sunglasses, not goggles, she habitually wears a pair of dark glasses. Her hair, dark brown, is what can be expected of someone in this world. While not unclean, it is far from perfectly taken care of. When exposed, her eyes are dark brown and her skin is well tanned, lean and well muscled. An active woman, she has no time to grow fat, lazy or complacent. Though born and bred in the wastes, she’s managed to become one of those rare people who have embraced the solitude. In her own way, a way not added to, not detracted by, the subtle curves of a feminine body, she’s found her place in a world that paints harsh, yet hauntingly beautiful pictures.


A loner by nature, the cast offs of caravans have flocked to the collection of badly run down homes and buildings that she found early on in her life. Unwilling to turn the men, women and children away, Kate found herself in an inadvertent position of quasi leadership. Versed in basic engineering and basic technological skills, through the first part of the Iron Coven’s training, she has been able to create crude electrical grids out of batteries and crude, aquaduct like irrigation systems that sustain, barely, life among the settlers that refused to enter the ruined city. While not invested, emotionally, in the safety of those who live around or with her, she’s been unable to pull up her roots and leave them as they are. By working the caravan routes and actively patrolling in an aggressive defense plan, she’s been able to secure a psuedo peace and barely manageable quality of life for the colony that unwittingly elected her as the dominant citizen, a mantle she’s still unsure of how to wear or use.

Through scavenging, Kate’s acquired a rather effective m24 EBR, a rifle chambered in the caliber 7.62 and normally used for close to mid range engagement. The heavy round, fired in a semiautomatic manner, is accurate up to 800 meters and capable of defeating many personal armor systems, though it is entirely unable to defeat more advanced armor systems. Fitted with a scavenged ACOG optical system, the weapon is suitable for house to house engagements as well as the hidden, long range, hit and run fighting she prefers. One fighting knife, ten inches in length, hangs from her belt, along with, but not limited to, a sidearm, Colt’s standard 1911, also scavenged. Unable to find much ammunition, she’s rarely got more than two to three magazines for the sidearm. A vest much like the type worn by soldiers in the past covers her chest, the pouches are filled with magazines for the rifle, of which, due to the common nature of the round it relies on, she has quite a few. Surely enough for a longer engagement. Omnipresent in nature, an assault pack, book bag style, covers her back. Within, she carries water for three days, food for three days, a foldable shovel, blankets, extra socks and a well used hoodie.

Land navigation, basic preservation of life in hostile environments, bartering, rudimentary technical knowledge, rudimentary engineering knowledge and extreme ambidextrous rifle use.
