Recently transferred to the R.A.S.G.'s planetside R&D and auxillaried to one of the oft defunct surveillance squadrons

Appearance:

If you didn't know him, Nathan had a tendency to be easily lost in a crowd. With dark hair and eyes, he had the 'every man' look about him that made him hard to notice and easy to forget.

For those who did take the time to notice, he was a creature of whimsical movement and distracted looks towards the empty places often that held little more than air or the ephemeral secrets left behind by others. He smiled often and for no reason, an expression that was considered awkward by those not perceptive enough to see the boyish charm that rode it's undercurrent to paint him the smallest bit of an enigma.

Fathomless intelligence lurked behind his eyes, but it was very hard to puzzle out what secrets he kept, if any.

"I suppose I can see the merit of having him here, sir." The adjutant was looking from his data pad to the commanding officer with a thoughtful expression. "I know you're starved for officers with some flight experience and his quals are above average, but the file says he's little better than a daydreaming tech-head who's been passed over for promotion twice due to poor, uh, 'variables'. And there's rumors , sir. He was stationed at Science Station Veridia when it was hit. There weren't many survivors and there's those that whisper it was a matter of negligence on his part. Or dereliction. They say there's something wrong with him. Something off. There are discrepancies in his file that are disconcerting."

Distracted by something else, the commanding officer waved a dismissive hand that implied he was paying only half attention. "I'm aware, Major, but we're going to have to make due. With the operating specialty in his file, plant him with the eggheads in Research and Development. Try to find him a shrink or one of those therapy types. Other than training, we won't let him out in a bird until he's cleared."
