Armor was saved for battle, of course, though he was never without his daisho (his pair of swords, katana and wakizashi or tanto). His kimono was plain but of sturdy and thick material (much like a gi) and had the symbol of his clan woven in gold thread upon his back. The symbol was about the size of a man's palm.

Usually, when out, he wore a kataginu or a haori (depending on the weather) and a hakama (wide, flowing trousers) over his kimono. Tabi usually worn with his waraji as well. His hair always tied back tight and high so that it would be seen from behind his head. Finally, his daisho would tucked into his obi (belt) on his left side with the longsword above the shortsword.

Shinzaemon, brought here months ago by what the locals call 'The Nexus', has slowly come to accept his fate of never being able to return to Japan. He is now Ronin (a masterless samurai), living only by the Bushido code. He speaks no other language but Japanese. Throughout the past few months he has picked up a few words but staunchly refuses to speak in any other tongue but his own.

He has spent the past few months chopping wood and constructing for himself a place to call his own home. A small tea house and dojo sit apart from his home, which is slowly becoming his ownly reminder of Japan.

Those who are reluctant to give up their lives and embrace death are not true warriors.... Go to the battlefield firmly confident of victory, and you will come home with no wounds whatever. Engage in combat fully determined to die and you will be alive; wish to survive in the battle and you will surely meet death. When you leave the house determined not to see it again you will come home safely; when you have any thought of returning you will not return. You may not be in the wrong to think that the world is always subject to change, but the warrior must not entertain this way of thinking, for his fate is always determined.

He is a master of Kenjutsu, Battojatsu, Iaido & Iaijutsu.
