Last night here on Twilight Isle was the Challenge for the Tower of Fire, in which grant recipient and newly promoted Sorcerer Takai Masamune took on Keeper Haru Jeong within the fiery confines of Tartarus! The challenger put on an impressive display of spellcasting and won his very first Tower in just two explosive matches! Well reigned, Haru! Congratulations, Takai, and welcome to the Keeper Club!

The October 2024 Archmage Tournament has been announced, and you know I’m going to be there! If you are of Mage rank, sign up now for early seeding access, and then come join me here on the Isle on Sunday, October 20th at 8:00 PM to see if you have what it takes to win the right to challenge our current reigning Archmage Colleen MacLeod!

Note: Amaris Silhaeven won the Earthwarden’s Ring on 9/22/24 in the Autumn All Ranks tournament. This awards the usage of Elemental Fury in regulation matches until the next All Ranks tournament.

AROUND THE CITY: Rumor has it that there’s a Stonehide Juggernaut on the loose! Can the citizens of the city stop its rampage before it tramples through the streets? We sure hope so! Stay tuned for more details on this story as it develops.

NEWS FROM OTHER VENUES: Diamond Quest CXIX has been announced! This tournament will take place on the evening of Sunday, October 13th over in the Outback! Registration has already begun with early seeding access ending Friday! Sign up now for a good spot in the brackets! Show up next week to participate! The Black Diamond could be yours next!

In other Outback news, a member of the team that runs the sport, Rel, has issued a Challenge for PathFinder to Droet, who not that long ago celebrated his one year anniversary of having held onto that particular Opal! Looking forward to how this shakes out? Keep your eyes on the cork to find out when this challenge will go down!

In a surprise switcheroo, after needing to reschedule, Anubis Karos was stripped of the title of Overlord for neglecting to remain active. Senior Baron Myria Graziano of Battlefield Park was chosen to step in to defend the title. On the evening of Thursday, October 3rd, she met with challenger Eregor Túr Gairdín and together they put on a best of three nailbiter of a show! In the end, after three extraordinary matches, Eregor cut his way to victory to become the 132nd Overlord of the Duel of Swords! Congratulations!

THE RING OF KLYTUS: The holder for this cycle is Haru Jeong! The ring grants an additional focus over the normally allotted amount, but is still limited to the maximum of 3 foci.

Cycle Ranks Through Week 6

Cycle rankings show how duelists perform over the course of the cycle, with the top performer earning the Ring of Klytus (provided they began the cycle below the rank of Mage). To balance percentage performance duelists are broken into 3 brackets based on number of duels fought, with top accolades achievable by only those in the upper tier. Duelists are ordered first by bracket, then by winning percentage, followed by the number of wins and lastly by low rank to high.
