ANNOUNCEMENTS: On Thursday evening, we saw the winner of the August 2024 Archmage Tournament, Colleen MacLeod, face off with reigning Archmage Rachael Blackthorne. These two mighty magicians battled hard through a pair of fast and furious matches with Colleen coming out on top in both, and ultimately, claiming the Key to the Celestial Citadel. Congratulations, Colleen! Well reigned, Rachael!

Gillette Brooke has issued her second challenge to Keeper of Water, Droet the Bold. None of the relevant details have been posted just yet, so keep an eye on the cork to find out when this match-up will take place.

Note: Gatito Lindo won the Pyroclast’s Gauntlet on 6/23/24 in the Summer All Ranks tournament. This awards the usage of Elemental Fury in regulation matches until the next All Ranks tournament.

AROUND THE CITY: On Friday night, the Rhy’Din community got its first taste of the upcoming Spooky Season in the form of Summerween! The party was held in the recently opened Pirate’s Cove at Seaside, and was hosted by Tahlia Faras Blake and Delaney Lovell. There were lots of wonderful costumes, plenty of great food, games with fun prizes, skeletal servers, and even a Giant Penguin!

NEWS FROM OTHER VENUES: It seems that the Swords dueling community is still catching its collective breath after the recent flurry of activity. There were no new challenges posted to the Arena cork this week.

Last Sunday’s Fists All Ranks Tournament was such a grand affair, it could not be contained to just one evening. After the final matches, fought on Wednesday night, it was Myth Ascend who took home the black Opal, ShadoWeaver. Congratulations, Myth! Matt Simon claimed super vacuum, One Tough Sucker, which he donated to Nero Zhir, for reasons known only to the two of them, and Em Locke took home Fistmelda’s Tusk. Congratulations, you two! And congratulations to every duelist who took home one of the other fabulous prizes offered!

We now have details for the upcoming FireStar challenge. Nero Zhir and Kruger “the Anvil” Allen will meet Tuesday, September 3rd, at 10:30 EDT. Will Nero notch his fifth defense of the red Opal? Or will the second challenge prove the charm for Kruger? Stay tuned!

THE RING OF KLYTUS: The holder for this cycle is Haru Jeong! The ring grants an additional focus over the normally allotted amount, but is still limited to the maximum of 3 foci.

Cycle Ranks Through Week 1

Cycle rankings show how duelists perform over the course of the cycle, with the top performer earning the Ring of Klytus (provided they began the cycle below the rank of Mage). To balance percentage performance duelists are broken into 3 brackets based on number of duels fought, with top accolades achievable by only those in the upper tier. Duelists are ordered first by bracket, then by winning percentage, followed by the number of wins and lastly by low rank to high.
