News Report: Fire Cleans House in Rhy'Din City Jails!

Post by Mira Burke »

Late Saturday night, Rhy'Din was host to a quartet of explosions, each emanating from the city's largest holding facilities for criminals in Dockside, Dragon's Gate, Old Market and Old Temple! The arsonist is currently unknown and at large, say watchmen, but reports are that Minister Jackson Payne was able to warn the Dragon's Gate facility before the explosions went off. An anonymous caller to the newsroom, identifying themselves as the bomber and using a voice changer, said only this: "I'll be watching you, Payne."

Death Tally:
Dockside:

72 prisoners, 5 guards
Dragon's Gate:
23 prisoners, 1 guard
Old Market:
32 prisoners, 2 guards
Old Temple:
47 prisoners, 3 guards

UPDATE #1: The City of Rhy'Din appears to be banding together to keep these localized fires under control! Fires appear to be contained thanks in large part to the fire departments under the supervision of Ebon Illnaren as well as a band of hose-toting roombas and a group of mages headed by Jaycy Ashleana! Numerous medical facilities across the city are taking in the wounded and rattled, while The Governor's Office will give a statement to the press at 9 AM RT on Sunday morning provided the situation is contained and under control. Anya de la Rose has been tasked with any and all relief efforts. When contacted, The Governor's Office stated that they will give a statement to the press at 9 AM RT on Sunday morning provided the situation is contained and under control. There is also an unverified report that Jackson Payne is currently being hospitalized and near death, due to exhaustion, muscle tears and smoke inhalation!

UPDATE #2: Tenball has called in to report that the Red Dragon Inn's kitchen is prepping meal packages for first responders.

UPDATE #3: New reports suggest that these arson attacks are directly linked to the slaughter of a company of catgirl soldiers recently hired by Minister Jackson Payne that took place almost a week ago.

UPDATE #4: With the fires out, numerous armed militias have begun forming and patrolling the streets. It is unclear at this time if these groups are centralized or if they are working independently from one another.

UPDATE #5: Tenball has set off in a van to deliver meal packages to first responders. Mira Burke has called in to let everyone in the city know that Endless Nights Cafe and Apothecary is a safe haven and they are brewing large quantities of house coffee for anyone in need. As this specific story seems to be contained, we will not be updating this story further until we receive the official report from the Governor.
