Just a few things for the IFL season. Some you might not know or remember, others are some quick reminders on process.
1. Starting an IFL Duel:
To start an IFL fight you just need to issue the ?ifl "opponent name" command to the bot. The command knows that it is a dof fight that can go beyond 15 rounds and will take care of the rest for you. It will create the fight in whatever the regulation venue of the night is. Optionally if you do not want to fight in the regulation venue, you may add the venue code that you do want to the end of that command and override the default. For example, if the night's venue is the Arena, but you want to fight in the IFL Garden instead, you would just add the Garden's code (g) to the end: color=#800040]?ifl "opponent name" g[/color].

2. Captain Communications:
There is a discord channel for all the captains, assistant captains and league administration. We use this to share news and hopefully the captains distribute through the teams any semi interesting items that comes out of there. If you're not hearing anything from your captain, pester them about it!
3. Ranks and Mods:
Don't forget that IFL is not DoF. The league gives out its own ranks and number of mods that go with it, so make sure you are adhering to those limits in your fight. Also, take a moment to look up your opponents rank and mod count before going into the ring. Fighters in IFL are further limitted to using only 2 more mods than are available to their opponents.
4. Rank Increases:
Throughout the season, fighters below the rank of Powerhouse may become eligible for rank increases. If you are currently a Trainee you become eligible upon your first win, anyone else will become eligible after earning 2 wins (and if you start at trainee you can get a 2nd bump up after your 3rd win). Upon meeting that criteria, make a post in this thread to request your rank up.
5. Web site scoring and fight recording:
Match tallies and team rankings won't update until a given fight has been recorded to the website. This is a manual process that either I do in the mornings or the captains take care of at the end of a bout. If your match hasn't been recorded, please DM me or your captain with a request to make that happen.
6. News!
News submissions throughout the season will be posted to the IFL Homepage. If you want more reading space, click on the title of the article and it will open up in the blog software used on the back end.
Interested in writing news? We'd love to have you, so please DM Kalamere. Any topic loosely connected to IFL is welcome. Sports writing, gossip, fashion, cooking tips, whatever. Preferred format is to give me an article in a google doc that I can copy and paste into our system.
7. Have questions?
Ask them! If you're not sure on a thing, there's a good chance you aren't the only one. Post your questions in this thread and I'll make an answer up for you as soon as I see it.
edit 11/6 - Using the ?ifl command will place your duel in the venue of the night including the Arcade if it is the arcade's night. I had originally stated that on Arcade nights we would use the Garden having forgotten that we had actually decided against that last year. Apologies for the confusion.
