Sylus will have to answer in more detail, but the idea of the Hydra individual tournament will be much like the original incarnation from the 2013 season.. meaning that there is not a single fight style.
Fights will begin with one style, say DoS, and then switch every few rounds. I think it's 4, but again Sylus will need to post details. So you start DoS, then in the 4th(?) round would switch to DoM or DoF and then in the 8th(?) round switch to the one remaining. If, after 12 rounds, there isn't a winner the cycle starts over.

I will be posting full details on the invitational, Monday the 17th. The tournament itself is Saturday the 29th. That gives 2 weeks for teams to figure out who they're sending to the party up to the day before the tournament on the 28th.JewellRavenlock wrote:When do we have to have the Invitational names in? Also, you mentioned that 8th is single-elimination but not what sports would be involved or how it works otherwise.
The tournament itself is multi-style. Here's a teaser:
Each duel will integrate all three combat sports by changing the dueling style every 4th round until a victor emerges. (( OOC: Each duelist will be limited to 4 modifiers per duel, only 3 can be used as Foci in the magic rounds ))
e.g. Matt vs Lilith . Duel 1, Round 1, Swords. Round 2, Swords. Round 3, Swords. Round 4, Style switch to Fists. Round 5, Fist. Round 6, Fist. Round 7, Fist. Round 8 Switch to Magic. Round 9, Magic. Round 10, Magic. Round 11, Magic. Round 12, Sword starts again. Round 13, Swords. Round 14, Swords. Round 15, Swords.
If by 15 rounds a duelist is not leading by 1 full point the duel will continue until a victor secures a full point lead.
