That's right, you're all mad! What better way to celebrate the upcoming Madness Tournament than for all of us to let our "mad" freak flags fly in the Mad as a Hatter Madness Kickoff Event?

On Saturday, February 28th during the regular dueling hours (beginning at 8:30 pm) show up wearing a crazy hat or costume (or both!) to support the final day of Madness registration. This is Alice in Wonderland themed (mostly) but many of our characters wouldn't have a clue about the story so it isn't being called that.

There will be prizes awarded for the following categories:

--Craziest Hat
--Craziest Costume
--Best Nonsensical Silly Rhyme
--Mystery Prize (to be announced during the event)

As your character walks down the stairs into the Arena, they will pass through a gate that will lead onto a green, moss covered bridge. Below the bridge is a magical creek of pastel rainbow colored water. The bridge and the water are both available areas for dueling. The magical properties of the water make it as shallow or as deep as the duelist or just casual wader think it to be.

As the bridge leads around to the heart of the transformed Arena, your character will see numerous giant colored mushrooms growing out of the floor as well as painted upon the walls. All of the tables have been transformed to have neon lighting around each one in various colors.







Of course, our beloved callers will have their own extra special area for lounging.



The giant mushrooms are also great for dueling upon. Whether the two duelists stay upon one mushroom or hop from one to the next, it is sure to be exciting. If they choose to hop, they might notice that there is an extra large spring to their step.



The final "special ring" is a giant teacup that is as large in diameter as one of the traditional rings but requires a ladder to climb to the top and then down inside of it. Also, it spins.

There will be tables set up with a vast assortment of hats. Directly next to the "hat buffet" will be the bar with special Mad Hatter's Punch both with and without alcohol added. All of the shots of spirits will be served in miniature colored bottles and the specialty drinks will be served in various sized colorful bottles, depending on the type of drink requested.

There are also numerous magic potions in special vials marked "Drink Me." The effects of these potions greatly vary and for added mystery and *Madness* there are no labels telling what potion produces what effect. Some may shrink, some may grow, some may fall in love, some could fall ill. Really, the possibilities are endless. The DoS Administration will not, of course, accept liability for any effects of these potions.




There will be a small buffet of finger foods for self service.
