This is a reminder about the IFL rank increase rules. This is the clause:

The Rules wrote:Only fighters who did not compete in the previous season and who have minimal experience in seasons prior will be ranked as Trainee. A Trainee is eligible for the rank of Flyweight immediately following his or her first official win. The fighter or manager may submit a rank-increase request to the league office once the win has been posted.

During the season, any fighter is eligible for a rank increase upon earning a minimum number of wins, which number will be specified at the beginning of each season. The minimum number of wins for increase in rank will be equal to one less than half of the total number of weeks in the regular season, rounded up (eg: in a 7 week season, the number would be 3, since half rounded up is 4, less 1). The fighter or manager may submit a rank-increase request to the league office once the minimum number of wins has been posted.

NOTE: KBW is NOT achievable in this fashion. That title is only granted to the winner of the Powerhouse Party, end of season tournament

SO.. if you are a trainee who has achieved a win, or anyone below the rank of Powerhouse was has achieved 3 wins, you are eligible to receive a rank increase.

Please post rank increase requests as a response to this thread. Once I've seen and verified a request, I'll make the change and you will be able to fight at the new rank immediately after it appears on the website.

I am going to request Keo Tim be given a rank increase due to her win in week two vs Koyliak. She is no longer a trainee.

Is there any timing on when the rank increase takes effect? Say someone fights their week 5 match before their week four match and it earns them a rank increase. Do they get to fight at their new rank for the week 4 match, or is it from week 6 forward?

Hadn't really thought about it and I think the mentioned scenario should be rare. That said though, I think the rank increase should still be immediate. The overlapping weeks are an odd variable, but still, the fighter in question has done what it takes to achieve a new rank prior to that fight taking place, so I think they should be rewarded with it.
