Artist: OneRepublic
Album: Native

These guys are currently on their Never Ending Summer tour and I had the extraordinarily blessed privilege of seeing them live in concert recently. So of course all their songs are stuck in my head. A lot of them resonate strongly with me and my Salvador, and I do have this album in my personal collection. Here are a few of my favorites.

Bonus Song: This one is not on the Native album, but I love it, too.

Artist: Imagine Dragons
Album: Mercury Act II

Had the opportunity to see these guys live in concert recently, too! Though I have not been able to find the second act on vinyl, I do own the CD set of both Acts I & II. There are just as many wonderful songs on the second half of the album as the first. A whole lot of these resonate with my characters and me personally as well. Here are some of my favorites from the track list.
Bonus songs from other albums that I heard them perform live that really resonate.

This album was instrumental in Gatito’s rise to DiArchLord. It served as the backdrop to every challenge and every tournament, rallying his fighting spirit and centering me to help guide him through it, until he finally achieved his goal. It will always hold a special place in my heart and memories because of that.

It’s hard to choose favorites from this album because every single track is incredible, but the following songs have resonated or meant the most to Gatito and me during this period:

Album: Take Me Back To Eden

It’s very hard for me to find words to express just how much this band means to me. I wish I could say that I’ve been a fan since their formation in 2016, but it was in 2020, during the pandemic and a couple of months after the release of their first studio album, Sundowning, that I ran across them. And I instantly became a fan.

I normally try to share music here that has some kind of connection to RP, whether it’s serving as a backdrop for writing or dueling, is somehow part of my characters’ history, or has come up in play—and I have written and dueled to different tracks from TMBTE—but overall, this one is more personal for me.

This year has been a hard one from the jump. I’ve experienced a lot of loss, illness, and uncertainty over the past eight months, and this album has helped me get through it all. The heavy chugs, fry screams, haunting piano melodies, and insane drum work have given me an outlet in dark moments, and the wonderful word play, seductive grooves, genre blending, unconventional structures, and Vessel’s masterful vocals have delighted me and blown my mind. The callbacks to their previous albums, and especially to “The Night Does Not Belong To God,” the very first track I heard from them and the lead track from Sundowning, made me cry like a baby. So did realizing that TMBTE is likely the ending chapter in an epic trilogy of albums.

This album is an absolute masterpiece and it’s impossible for me to choose favorite tracks, so I’m just going to list them all.

Artist: Fall Out Boy
Album: So Much (For) Stardust

Had the privilege of hearing these guys in concert recently. Picked up a copy of this album on vinyl today. Have been hooked on listening to it on Spotfiy practically nonstop these days. Pretty much every song is so good. The first one is probably my top favorite, though. Got myself a t-shirt from the tour with the message "I'd never go, I just want to be invited" on it, a message that is totally relatable as an introvert. This whole album resonates with my soul and gives me so many character feels. Incomplete playlist follows.
Bonus track. This one is not on the vinyl I acquired, but is on the Spotify album and has been making the rounds on radio stations everywhere. I had the honor of hearing them perform it live. Relatable to everyone of my generation, imo, it's a remake of Billy Joel's classic, brought to more modern times. Really worth it to watch the video while listening.
